Spells, incantations, chants, and prayers all work along the same channel. Belief is the key that makes them work. Even Jesus told the people that He healed "your faith has made you whole". If you believe strong enough, prayers, spells etc. do work.

I can't prove it on the computer, it doesnt work that way. Our magick is religious magick similar to Christian prayer. Only we use candles and instead of just asking the Gods for help, we combine our energy with the energy in nature to help complete a task, Most results are not instantaneous but happen later.
For example, I made a mojo bag and burnt a candle to help me find a job, I took a walk afterwords and when I returned home there were three job offers waiting on the answering machine,

Depends on who you talk to. Depends on how you define magic and witchcraft. I'm Wiccan, I believe in the bit of witchcraft I do and I believe in the bit of magick I do. The few spells I've done have worked.. like doing a spell to do well on an exam, etc.

They are, but that does NOT make them good. They can have absolutely NO effect if God doesn't want them to. God decides. But witchcraft and 'magic' (You can't for example, turn a guy into a frog, but only do some 'spells', which, supposedly, will do an effect on someone or something). Of course, they're wrong.

ya know that's funny, my friend is trying to sell her house and buried a St Joseph statue head down in the yard, and I couldn't help but think this is like a magic spell, you have to do it just so and read a prayer (incantation?) bless a candle with oil, then light it, place the Holy Card (amulet?) in with the deed or mortage papers, just like from a book of magic

Yes magick, witchcraft, voodoo, necromancy and the like are real. Yes I could prove it, but I wont because I, and most others like my self would agree, would not want to waste time and energy on oh oh oh, show me, show me.
It would be an insult on the craft.
If 'jesus' wouldn't show harrod, why should I show someone like you?

Magic is the name given to science when it cannot be explained. Witchcraft was the scientists when no one could understand how they could do science

Hmmmm. Well, if you just think about it, the word "magic" really gives it away. Magic means it is illusory...not real...but it looks real. So the question of trying to prove something is true when it is set up to be illusory would be just a little bit silly.
As for witchcraft, that's a different matter. That's just a pile of crap.

Nope. Magic and witchcraft was the way the ignorant mind explained the unexplainable. It was all made up.
You can see in this definition from Dictionary.com the basis for my statement:

The art that purports to control or forecast natural events, effects, or forces by invoking the supernatural.
The practice of using charms, spells, or rituals to attempt to produce supernatural effects or control events in nature.

The exercise of sleight of hand or conjuring for entertainment.
A mysterious quality of enchantment: “For me the names of those men breathed the magic of the past” (Max Beerbohm).
adj.
Of, relating to, or invoking the supernatural: “stubborn unlaid ghost/That breaks his magic chains at curfew time” (John Milton).
Possessing distinctive qualities that produce unaccountable or baffling effects.
tr.v. mag·icked, mag·ick·ing, mag·ics
To produce or make by or as if by magic.

Is witchcraft real? Why yes. How can I prove it? Well, I am sitting here typing this, and I do practice witchcraft. I exist, I practice wicthcraft, ergo, witchcraft must exist.
Now, does witchcraft "work?" I would say yes, but I can not offer scientific proof, no more than I could offer scientific proof that proves or disproves the existence of god. Same goes for magick. However, the way I look at magick and witchcraft is probably a bit different than you are meaning. I look at magick and witchcraft as part of religious ritual and prayer, with the goal of honoring my deities and improving myself as a human being. In that sense, it "works."
