Well, don't drink and IM, friends. I want a "breathalizer" thing installed on my computer.
After coming home from a night out on the town with my friends, I was feeling lonely, and probably a little melodramatic. I confessed my secret love to this guy I've talked to a lot, but have only gone out with a couple times IRL. I was thinking he would NOT see an offline IM on Google Chat. Oops! Stupid - I know. To my horror, someone told me today that he would have received it! Should I bring it up to him? Or just crawl back into my bottle and die?

I wish you were the only one on the planet, that had done something stupid, after having a few drinks too many. Luckily, my worse thing, was to stand on a table, and sing, loudly.
Thank goodness, there was no lampshade to put on my head, or it could have been worse. Feel better now, lol.
He probably will understand, what happened, if it comes up, if it doesn't, just forget about the whole episode.

I think that if he acts the same around you as he always does, don't bring it up unless he does. Seriously, maybe he knows you were drunk and will let it go. If he acts differently, ask him what's up. Bring it up that way and explain that you had been drinking and you are really sorry about sending it. You should be able to smooth this over. Most people are forgiving about little stuff like that due to drinking.
