I'm 16, he's 18, and we live across the country from each other. We've talked about meeting and dating. I know that his intentions are pure, and he's a really sweet guy.

You need to make absolutely sure you are willing to make a significant sacrifice/commitment for him. It's easy to fall for someone on the net/over the phone because you only see how he wants you to see him. You have no real idea how he would act around his friends for instance. You know everything good about him, and probably little of the bad. You have to figure out if it's worth the risk. And sorry to mention age, but at 16, you have a whole world of possibility opening up. My advice, wait. If it's meant to be, it'll last anyway.

Unless you've met him in person before, you're nuts. You don't know if he's really "pure" or "sweet." You don't even know that he's eighteen. He could be some 40 yr. old, fat, hairy rapist.

But it's your life, and I don't necessarily know the situation well enough to judge it. That's not my place, obviously. However, be careful...there's way too many girls out there who get seduced by guys they think seem nice and innocent.

If you are going to meet him, I would suggest making it a double date with a couple you are friends with, just to be safe.

Jsut have faith and with faith any relationship here and far can work....be careful though especially if you have never met this guy...I think otherwise that anyone can love anyone no matter their distance apart...think of all those who are over in Iraq fighting right now. They have lovers here waiting for them to return. Distance is never an issue for a truly committed, loving couple.

I'd say that if you met this person on the internet you should be careful! If you met them in person maybe you should just remain friends and e-mail and chat online. You're only 16 and there are plenty of guys out there!

long distance relationships don't work. relationships at 16 dont work. talking to someone you haven't met that lives across the country doesn't work.

you are all mixed up.
