there are many reasons why people suffer! Not all of them are because of God! The world was created by God. You, your freinds, and I were created by God. He gave ALL of us free will to choose which God we would serve. It is mans desire to serve other gods that has led to most of the suffering on this planet! your freind may be praying his heart out.....but that wont do any good if he does not believe in the right God! There is only one. and a true relationship with him is the only way to end ones suffering in their life-wothout that relaltionship, prayers are just words! Praying to the wrong god are just words as well! There are many people who have had what we would think as Horrible lives! But they would tell you they were blessed....all because of the relationship they had! The relationship they had with Jesus!!

You haven't really mentioned what this person has done to help himself. Since he continues to get the same results, he has to change what he is doing to get different results. God wants him to change. For most people the thing that we need to change the most is our own thoughts about what is happening. When something bad happens, we give a certain interpretation in our minds based on our past experiences, and that is how we view the events of life. We don't see things the way they really are, we see them the way that WE are. Ask God to show you the true situation.

God does not cause the troubles that we experience, but He allows it to happen as a lesson to us.

Full surrender to God without holding anything back. Repent, turn away from sin, and don't go back.

It is so easy to think that God does not care for you, especially when you are depressed, but this is not true, it is a lie of Satan; God cares about each one of us. (It took me a long time to believe this.)

The big thing about depression and stress is that we think that the whole world is against us and we don't know what to do. (This is an example of a wrong thought, because you have friends and family who care about you, and God cares too.)

Put all of your trust in God. With each different stressor in life, try to look for a lesson and blessing. Try to look at the positive side, even though it will be hard to see; it is there, and you have to search for it.

Attend a Godly church. This can be another resource for support and encouragement.

Force yourself to get exercise. This will help the body to deal with the physical aspects of stress. Also, try to get 7-8 hours of sleep each NIGHT. Sleep before midnight is responsible for the release of endorphins that will help to lessen the effects of stress. (This doesn't meansleep all day and be up all night; your body knowswhat time it is.)

Turning to God has been shown to be the greatest stress reducer, and when that is relieved, the depression will go. Don't turn your back on God, not at this point; this is when you need Him most.

I have had my own experience with stress and depression and now I teach others how to overcome their problems.

Right now I am thankful that God did not answer my prayers either because I was praying for Him to allow me to die.

If it's a medical condition, that person needs to seek a doctor's help. Easiest answer.

Here's the hard answer. Sometimes we are depressed due to our own thoughts. They become a cycle in our heads, or as Dr. Phil says "it's a recording that plays over and over". And it's true. Everything around them seems depressing, they are anxious all the time, stressed, which causes medical problems, etc.

God has an answer for this, it's in His Word. Ephesians 5:14 - 20: For this reason he says, Be awake, you who are sleeping, and come up from among the dead, and Christ will be your light. Take care then how you are living, not as unwise, but as wise; Making good use of the time, because the days are evil.
For this reason, then, do not be foolish, but be conscious of the Lord's pleasure. And do not take overmuch wine by which one may be overcome, but be full of the Spirit; Joining with one another in holy songs of praise and of the Spirit, using your voice in songs and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving praise at all times for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father

So that's the hard answer. You must follow the above with your focus on the fact that it says that YOU MUST, in other words, no one is going to do it for you, you must do it. Force it, even if you don't "feel" like it, do it anyway, follow these simple things. Walk around with a song in your heart, even if your heart is in the dumps; you must avoid alcohol and drugs, get busy (make good use of your time), and always, sing in your heart. Eventually, these life-giving Words will give you new life.

God gave us the free will to create our own reality. We are powerful creators made in God's image as a creator. Change your mindset and your beliefs that your life is full of misfortune. When you believe this you keep bringing it into your reality. Try to find some better feeling thoughts about your situation and you can change the vibration that you are putting out into the universe. By putting out a more positive vibration you will activate the universal law of attraction and will attract more fortune, abundance and blessings into your life. Sounds too good to be true, but it is working for me. Try reading the books listed in the sources below. They have changed my life.

Sending love, light, blessing and positive energy to you!

Because the Jews were his favorite people and he called them stiff necked people. Finally he broke with them and let Christianity get started. Unfortunately Satan took charge when Adam sinned and has been the cause of man's sins today.
Don't blame God for Satan's work. You can see the pain he causes. But it is destined to end soon.
The bible says in the resurrection there will be no more cause for anyone to say I am sick. Youth and good health can be ours forever.

God isn't sending all this. Maybe your friend needs counseling and medication. There is nothing wrong with getting help when we need it. God suffers with us when we suffer, God hurts and has compassion for all God's children.
This person is not doing anything wrong and isnot being punished.

What about suffering?

1.Men there are born of a woman will have troubles. Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.
2.God tells Peter that He is no respecter of persons. Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: Before this time God had a chosen people. Israel. He also tells Paul the same message. Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
3.Paul had a thorn in the flesh. 2 Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. He asked the Lord to remove it but the Lord reply was that His grace was sufficient. 2 Corinthians 12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
4.Paul said that he had suffered lost but the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared the glory which shall be revealed. Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
5.Paul said that he rejoice in his suffering for us. Colossians 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
6.In the age of grace, we will suffer. 2 Corinthians 1:7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
7.We don’t have miracle healing today. 2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
8.We don’t know what to pray for. Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
During the earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ healing was instantaneous, unlimited and complete. Acts 3:7-8; Matt 5:29; Matt 4:24: Matt 15:31; Matt 9:30

God is testing him. dosnt that suck? i hate that so much, seeing an awesome christian being tested. It's like Job in the Bible, i think it's really unfair during this lifetime, but in the next im sure i'll understand why God makes his people suffer so much.

There's a lot god doesn't help with. Either god doesn't exist, or he just doesn't care. There's a lot he could have helped me with but he didn't so I quit caring. Now I'm agnostic. :)
