cryogenics is not such a bad idea?

Hypothetically.

You gotta be kidding. Who do you think is gonna get to extend their lifespans that way? The super-rich and egocentric, that's who. I've had quite enough of that crowd already.

Cryogenics, or in this context, Cryonics actually does work for flash freezing cells, tissues, etc. The problem is in the slow thawing process, there's no good way to do it for a large mass such as a human body. Have you ever looked at a thawed out "frozen strawberry" pretty nasty if the same thing happened to a human.

Hmm. Sorry to play Debbie Downer here, but supposing they can bring you back from the dead someday, what do you think the odds are that between that day and this, your cryogenic storage chamber will have a continuous supply of energy and not be damaged between now and then by terrorism, war, human incompetence, or any of the climatic effects of global warming?

I'd be too afraid of coming back slightly freezer-burned, and having to spend the rest of my unnatural life with an ice cream headache.

Cryogenics is simply putting off the inevitable for whatever reasons.

Cryogenics does work. It freezes things at a very low temperature. I won't be seeing you on the other side. Have a nice freeze-thaw cycle though.

Currently they haven't figured out a way to reduce ice crystals enough to where they don't destroy protein, so modern cryogenics, no, I wouldn't want to bother with that, but perhaps one day...

You have that much faith that the future world would be a nicer place, I mean look at the history is the same as it was 2000 years ago its only the technology that changed, the same thing that went on then go on today like
poverty
War
starvation
slavery
and so on

Let's play what if . . .

What if evolution is really true and some species advances beyond humans before we are able to bring people back to life after being frozen?

And, what if humans are considered domestic animals that are raised for livestock for the superior species? Would you still want to be frozen and brought back to life, only to be eaten for dinner?

It might be a great idea to preserve intelligence at certain levels of need, particularly for certain studies leading to medical break throughs. Also for someone who has had many new and useful ideas.
It is unfortunate that freezing cells destroys them. If they can get around that.....
