My kids loved...
A pinata... (but you may have to help it break after everyone has had a turn) Lots of gum is good to fill it with
Games that involved lots of movement... (especially if they get to all move and not wait)
Red Light Green Light
Musical chairs (but we used carpet squares on the ground)
Simon Says
Instead of party favors... have a ...
Pirate Prize Drawing (You buy a small goodie and wrap it up....everyone chooses a number....)
#1 picks a package first and opens it so everyone can see
#2 picks a package and opens it so everyone can see.... then decides to either keep it or trade for #1
# 3 picks and opens a pkg.. decides to keep or trade for #1 or #2's pkg...
keep going until everyone has opened a pkg
EACH gift can only be traded 3 times.... it helps to put a piece of paper on each gift and make a mark each time it is traded to keep track
I found that opening gifts THEN eating worked best.
Have fun!!!

Pin the tail on the donkey. Have an oversized picture of the donkey, and make sure the tails are with velcro. The ones to pin the tail closest wins a prize. Blow up a whole bunch of balloons . Give one to each child, and have a stopwatch. On the lawn, so nobody gets hurt, have each one sit on their balloon one at a time, till it pops, the one that pops the balloon in the least time, wins a prize. Have a recorder with different sounds and ask each child to identify the sound . Each correct answer gets a prize. Have a drawing contest. Have crayons and posterboards ready to create. This is a good one to do when the kids need to calm down a little from all the excitement and sweets which will probably make many hyper.Their are just a trillion suggestions , but too many to list here. Most of all ,,, Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday!

I use to put on tapes that played...."head shoulders knees and toes". Freeze music, they have to be statues.
Nail polish toes is easy. Only have the party about 1 hour, maybe 90 minutes.

face painting, by another parent use non toxic water colors.
Keep it simple like a flower on the cheek so everyone has a chance.
And games, well they dont stay interested very long.
Try a bean bag toss into a box.( something you can make)
or a simple craft like stringing large beeds on a shoe string.
Then they can wear it and take it home.

you should do face painting, and a little game called "little Susy walker"it goes like this:create a circle, then choose one kid to go in the middle.when you start singing, the kid walks around in a circle.you sing"little Susy walker, walking down the street,"two claps",she didn't know what to do she stopped in front of me.she said,"hey girl do your thing do your thing now switch!"on hey girl do your thing, the person the middle starts dancing at the perso she stopped at,then that person has to copy the girl that was n the middle.repeat "hey girl" line.then the one who copied the girl that was in the middle does it over.except she's the one that's in the middle.it's a cool game.good luck at finding a theme!
