Use a gel or mousse or spray before and after straightening hair. (Any people magazine will have a zillion cheap hair products to try out that you can get at a drugstore) Also, try blowdrying it straight first and then using a flat iron. Good luck1

You should use a good straightener and you should also try some gels that are made for straigthening hair or even shampoos. You may have to pay a little more to get a good one that works.

when straightening always use a heat protective spray or product. also pantene have a really good straightning cream that you put on while straightning, dont use gel or wax, spray hairspray all over lightly to help keep it down and in place.
always make sure that your hair is in good condition, use good shampoos and conditioners, and use the straightning products before straightning, they should help to keep it nice

what kind of straightener do you have? That happens to me and I have the Remmington Wet2Straight. I figured that the problem was in the straightener and I'm planning to buy a new one. If this one doesn't work then I'm giving up.

Use a good straightner, but before that was your hair with some Frizz Ease shampoo (use the conditioner too) and use some Frizz Ease (or similar) hair serum. (It will help your hair be smooth and shiny).

I have same problem. You may need a pair of big curlers or flat irons and use some kind of styling agent to help it look sleek and smooth.
