Wow, maybe it's your name...just kidding, if you hadn't put your last initial, I have a good friend named Brad (who's in his 40's) who has never married, but his last name starts with a J.
He's a doctor, makes good money, has a great place on the lake & a couple of boats....good looking, too...but he has this terrible habit of choosing girls, instead of women. I don't mean underage, I just mean underage for him, and then he's confused when they end up being "immature". (Go figure!)
I don't really have a good answer for you,,,most women anymore are just PYSCHOTIC! You aren't necessarily odd, maybe you're one of the smarter ones. If I were single, I would rather date a man who hasn't married, than one who is divorced. I guess that I would be looking for someone who is stable in his life, emotionally, career-wise and spiritually, who is fun (social), but also comfortable just hanging out at home, and probably most women in your age range will have kids, so someone who likes children, and would be a strong and loving step parent to them.
My best suggestion...if you're looking for a good woman, look in a good place...church would be my best suggestion.
If you're really wanting to settle down, and start a family, ask God to lead you to the perfect one for you. He listens, you know.

No you are not odd.That first answer you received is not true.At that age a woman is usually looking for a serious relationship.One that includes being with her and only her.Maybe a family.If you are fine being single,stay that way until you are ready to make that kind of commitment.Now if you are talking about younger women,that's a different story.they may want a good time vs settling down.Or a sugar daddy,or maybe someone they can have sex with from time to time.That's just my opinion.You've been single this long,when the right girl comes along you'll know it.

Looking for the same stuff of 40 yr olds that have been previously married: Integrity, confidence, loyalty, compassion/passion, selflessness, manners, kindness, good relationships with parents, friends, co-workers, etc... And no, you are not odd..there are many situations for why one is still single at 40...divorce, widowed, followed career path first, didn't find the one that capture his heart......Press on, be yourself, and believe in what you stand for or else you'll fall for anything(one)

probably looking for a reason as to why ur still not married or why u never have been...are u still immature and act like a child that the woman has to take care of? that could be why...or the fact that u still may live at home w/ ur parents? that's a sad one. yeah, ur odd for still being single...that's not good ya know...never been in a committed relationship..that's a real sad one hun!

It's only a little odd if you're still living with your parents. I commend you for staying single and not making a wrong choice. There's nothing wrong in not wanting to "settle" for anything other than what you feel is right for you. As far as what women are looking for-someone who treats them with respect, someone dependable and trustworthy. And for me, a sense of humor ranks way up there.

As for what a woman looks for. We look for some one who is sucessful at life. Some one with a good job, some one with a good head on there shoulders. Someone who is kind and affectionate.

well sweetie my man is 44 and hes had girlfriends but hes put his career first-its all about what u want-I don't think hes odd at all some men don't want to get married

i wouldnt say that u are odd for being single maybe u had some up and downs !!! you would need to be nice and caring.. and if she has kids u need to make sure u would love them as one of your own!
