Try Halo by Designer Skin. It has bronzer and a little SPF in it. Also, start out very slow...6 or 7 min your first time and gradually increase in two minute increments!
Also, your face tends to burn more than your body, so try a lotion specifically for faces such as Amazing Face by Designer Skin.
After you tan, use a good moisturizer such as Angel. It really will help!

Something with fairly high SPF is best if you are pale and do not have a base tan. You should also buy a lotion specifically for tanning in tanning beds. They sell these at tanning salons very often.

As a beginner, look for lotions with bronzers built in. You'll be tan after the first session! I've included a link to my favorite one. It's called Citrus Tini, and it has built-in bronzer and it also cools your skin. It contains extra virgin olive oil to soften your skin.
