American thinks its has a right to tell other countries how they should treat their people and to attack them if they do not obey. That to me is illegal. The US justify the attack by saying they are protecting 'their' interests.

Is it not a double standard to then call those people illegal when they come here seeking 'safer, stronger, righteous' country where their resources end up anyway?

The US should not have it both ways. I say everyone should be allowed into this country.

Saul henandez you want to tell me who we should let in now? Or do you wish to wait until the manipulating government and media tell you first? You are under their control you know!!!

Remmo16: Two wrong don't make a right is your philosophy. That inane saying does not impress me because I believe 2 wrongs = a Right.

The comment next to yours is at least honest. She knows it's wrong but comes up with the same self serving justification as the government has taught her. I'm sure she's a repug.

Sooner or later we will have to adjust to what we have created. The US does not live in a protected bubble and the world is beginning to see the cracks they can exploit. Some will migrate here to live and some will come to destroy it and neither can be stopped indefinitely. Now chew on that!!!!!

Joeandhisguitar: No country, including America has 'earned' the right to invade another to 'free' their country.

That is a bunch of bullshit. America does not talk about freedom for other countries unless that country has valuable assets that America wants.

And why go back only to WWI and II why not go back to every major conflict in the world. Other empires fought and won other wars too. Does that mean they earn the right.
Such nonsensical arguments arrogance and blantant thiefery is what makes the world hate us. America can be brought to her knees just like every other powerful empire has. And they all became bloated with the same smirkiness prior to the fall.

Turntable: Your puny lil brain did not grasp that 'illegal' refers to ALL illegal not just Mexicans. And in their case, they have as much rights to live here as anyone else. After all Texas and Califonia should rightfully be theirs.

There are several communities of illegal Americans in Mexico too. They should throw their a$$es out in retaliation. Just like Venezuela's doing. BTW, they are the next target - they have oil too.

Hexador04: You don't want 500 Chinese? %500 Chinese do not wish to be here. Their country is doing well, lady. How do I know -the US media talks about how their increased use of the world's gas (10%) is affecting America's are usage (75%). That's how I know, in other words they use codes words to get you to start hating a country so that they can pursue the next step - putting out reasons to invade them. You people are blinded by the light!!!!

bconehead (and all others): America has enough wealth to support a lot more immigrants legal or not. This country DOES not and never did suffer from immigrants. They generally bring their ambitions, aspirations and unique know-how with them. If someone will do the math, you will see that immigrants cause a positive impact on the economy. The Mexicans may have taken over some construction jobs, but many of them opened other businesses that make money for their communities government - landscaping is one of the more visible ones.
New York probably has the most varied influx of immigrants and that city hauls in loads of money from the businesses immigrants create. Americans who spout hatred for these people respond that way because of media hype - they know how and when to do it.
The current Mexican focus is man made - a ploy to get you worked up so you cannot attend to what is a bigger in this country (another question this one is too long already)

And
Americans living in Mexico are not all criminals - there are retirees also who have established towns with mostly America expatriates(that's one of my choices I researched for my retirement)

The double standard is in Mexico's immigration policies. And ...just so you know..virtually everyone IS allowed in America. No one is saying stay out, WE are saying if you come to America then do it legally. America Does have a right to push her policies on the world stage America has earned that right. Remember WW1 and WW11. America is a permanent member of the UN security council and has veto power over the desires of other countries. In the process of, as you put it, illegally attacking other countries America has liberated over 20 million people from a ruthless murderer and tyrant. And America has shed blood for the pursuit of democracy and freedom. Are you alleging that illegal immigrants are here for the same reason?

I agree about the double standard I have no problem with other people coming to this country as long as they A. do not engage in criminal activities B,. work for a living and C. learn to at least speak enough or the language of the country they are in so that they can function with out an interpreter for daily routines

I think as a country we are helping others to know what freedom is and how countries should treat thier people because everyone should be protected against some things that happen in other countries. My husband is from another country and is here legally. Everyone shouldn't be allowed here unless they go through the process legally. It would be nice if everyone could live here but that can't be because of overcrowding and jobs ect.

(Joeandhisguitar) I agree with you. You think everyone should be allowed in this country sorry we have rights as a nation to decide who comes in and who stays, I don't want criminals let in we have enough of our own, and I don't want a 500 million Chinese let in either, no country could stand that many poor. They are sending billions back to Mexico and that is hurting our country. The more people that are free and that have a good economy in their own country means less people have a desire to come here. just look at Japan and Germany and all of Europe. our values of freedom speaks volumes.

somebody went to a liberal school didn't they, they want to live ina perfect world where everyone loves each other and life is fair....please wake up from your dream and live in the real world...it is not a double standard for one thing they are different interest...mexico is not a country that is trying to invade us on thier own interest...its the mexican people. how is mexico protecting its interest by coming over here? maybe you have no answer like a lib. why don't you go live in samalia where there is no law right now...why don't you move to another country if america sucks so much....i think you don't have the guts to move to another state...you just seem like someone with aloth of hot air...if you think about it, i think would should take military action againsts mexico to protect our interest...for thier government to controll its people...

Wow one of the best queries I have seen in Yahoo Answers! Good point.

I do think you are correct. There are a lot of illegal USA'ers in Mexico hiding from the law.

Illegals in construction as one previous poster said, is an example as to why I cannot support your statement. Low paying jobs in construction were unheard of until illegals invaded our country. They being in construction jobs is a great example of the fact they are indeed taking jobs that we will do but not at the low wages they accept.

Well, I guess I'm just another arrogant American. What we do in other areas of the world might not be morally just all of the time, but I don't see any reason why I should just roll over when people come here and try to impose BS on me and my country and her laws. When we go to other people's countries, they don't just roll over, they fight us. We kick their @$$e$, but that's a different story, they at least try to defend themselves. That's all we're trying to do in this war on illegal "immigration."

Chew on that for a while.

The problem with that statement is that no one in charge will admit that we attack other countries for their resources.

Besides, using Iraq as an example, weren't we just trying to make it a better place by bringing democracy to them as well?

PS-If someone had a clue, they would realize that there is absolutely no proof that said country has tried to "kill" you.

You're right that it is a double standard but two wrongs do not make one right. We should stop waging illegal wars to protect what is our "perceived" interest.

Maybe it's because there is a difference between taking over a culture and attacking the people that are trying to kill you.
