My daughter just had her 4th birthday and I need to send out Thank-you cards. The only kind the store had were blank ones, I dont know what gifts came from who. Does anyone have any ideas? I want something thats cute but I just cant think of anything.

I was not trying to be rude to my guests and the gifts were greatly appreciated, but when the gifts were being opened, my 1 yr old fell and cracked her lip so seeing what gifts where opened and who gave them was not an option. I was not trying to be inconsiderate, I understand that people spend time picking out the perfect gift. I have always made a list at all the parties, but at this one, there were things that happened that were out on my control.

Next time write down what people give her. When I shop for gifts I spend a lot of time picking out the perfect gift. I hate to think some people don't even know which one I gave!

It would be sweet if you wrote the thank you from your daughter's point of view. Use something cute she would say and sign the thank you card in her name, maybe even let her draw a heart or a flower beside it. This way you can avoid any details that would otherwise be a clear indication that you don't know what everyone gave.
I can guarrantee you everyone will love it!
P.S. Next time, write a quick, one word description on the back of the birthday cards so that you know who gave what. Like doll, dress, skipping rope, etc.

Send a nice picture of your daughter with her gifts around her and just simply write
Thank you for the wonderful gift, it will provide many hours of enjoyment!
That way is covers toys, books, clothes without being specific.
A hand written note is always more appreciated than those that are already filled out anyway!

Just a kind word of "thank you for the great gift" should be fine. You could make your own, or have your daughter color something cute.

Dear -------,
Thank you for the wonderful gift you gave my daughter. As the parent of a 4 year old I am always learning, like, if you leave the list of gifts and who they came from near the 4 year old, it becomes a wonderful picture, then confetti. So while I cant thank you for your specific gift, know that she is enjoying all her gifts, even the list, and we thank you for coming to help us celebrate this special day.

Make them on your computer, there are cards that you can print on. Find them at any office depot, walmart, target, and write your own littel message. Thanks for the gifts and thank you for coming. Maybe even get some toxic free ink and have her hand print from your daughter as a signature. Hope that helps

Maybe you could put your daughter's handprint on the front of the blank cards for decoration. You could use paint or something. That way it would be something "from" her and then you fill out the inside with one of the comments left above.
