Well MW you can rest assure that you ARE NOT alone. Plenty of people are dealing with the same problem. I recently gained weight and im going through something similar. What you need to do is find out wha'ts depressing you...if you can't come up with an answer...look harder..then maybe you should see a doctor about your condition. Basically your depressions stems from being over weight, when you try to lose weight you get weak and depressed and turn to food. Its a VICIOUS CYCLE! it has to stop. Pray...and do all you can to pull yourself out this rut. Life is so beautiful... and if you don't develop tough skin you will get burned. Remember no pain no gain MW. You will make it..all you have to do is believe in yourself, see the bigger picture and try.

I have been there. I can't say some magic phrase or suggestion that will help; you need to get to the place where you are more important than that sixth slice of pizza you shove in your mouth, you are more important than that person/situation that caused you to turn to food for comfort. Typically people who are heavy in depression are also emotional eaters.

Start your next weight loss campaign by evaluating your eating habits. Are you eating because you're bored, angry, sad, mad...or just hungry? This will give you some insight.

Start to work out regularly. Give yourself some time to get into the groove. Remember, it takes three weeks to successfully change a habit. Your endorphins will get going, and you'll feel better over time. The depression will subside.

If you truly have no one, turn to God. He'll support you in anything.
Good luck.

Well I am completely opposite, when I am depressed, not eating makes me feel much more satisfied than eating, and that became a problem for me. So whenever I try to go back to that I just tell myself that I want to be healthy, because being healthy can most times get rid of your depression. So try like a yoga class or something to get your mind off eating all the time. Being around other healthy people will give you more influence, and it will help you find more support.

hey depressed. You know, the most wonderful people I have known and loved have been over weight. Don't forget this has nothing to do with your inner self. Seek advise from a Dr., talk with a dietician, get on the internet for help groups with weight problems. Just don't give up and know who you really are, not how others perceive you. People in general can be very ungracious. We can't all look like models. But you should strive to like yourself for who you are! Good luck.

If you are not that physically active, start by walking around the block and realize that it doesn't happen overnight. The times that I have lost weight were the times I didn't worry too much about it and just did things I liked, like ride my bike or hike. I have struggled all my life with my weight, it goes up it goes down. Maybe you can have a friend walk with you a couple of times a week.

It's a big problem. Start setting goals where you have to be at a certain weight on such and such a date. The goals have to be bigger than you are. You want to lose weight because you don't want health problems. You want to lose weight because you want to be physically attractive to the opposite sex. Once the habit kicks in it'll get better. Hardest part about anything is getting started.Good luck to you
