How many people have chronic pain and are not getting treated and how do you cope with the pain?

Do you try over the counter meds to medicate yourself such as Asprin or Tylenol. What is the reason you aren't seeing a doctor?

I was on a drug that was for the pain but I would sleep all of the time and it got to where I was taking over 21 different med. to stop all of the reactions from each drug. I do not know about you but I now can not afford a thousand dollars for one script in the month much less 21 different ones. so I have to learn to dill with it if it gets real bad I'll take a pain pill but I do not like meds and I will fight the pain as long as I can I have went over a month and not taken any thing. I have a high tolerance for pain I guess.

Drs are too frightened by the drug warriors to provide proper pain care for many types of non malignant pain. Also complicating the Dr's situation are all the people like Rush Limbaugh who spend their time Dr shopping in search of drugs taken improperly in order to get high.Taking OTC pain meds like tylenol or ibuprofen can often help minor chronic pain but can also cause liver or kidney failure if taken in too high of dosage or when mixed with alcohol.

I have endometriosis. Chronic pain in the abdominal/uterine/ovary area. Doctors only want to pump me up with pain meds, and at one point I was a walking zombie. Getting off pain meds is similar to getting off heroin. Just realize the pain is there, take some extra strength aspirin, drink lots of herbal teas, and realize, mind over matter.

Go to a homeopathic doctor, the things they suggest work, because they are natural, and have been working for thousands of years. They also can give you herbal remedies that work, or tell you how to get/ make them. Most are very simple, easy to find, and are cheap.
