Seriously, I have a problem. I'm depressed alot, ever since really last year and I've never really snapped out of it. At first it was this guy, and now it's other stuff with it too, but what I'm tryint to say is, you know you have a problem when your teacher asks you what's wrong. All my friends/family try to help, my mom wants to take to me see a counselor, but I don't want to. I can't open up to anyone but God, and according to him, it's ggod to tell otheres your problems, cuz it help you grow better spirutally, but I just can't do that. I can't even talk to my mom about anything....

There is nothing wrong with you, Honey. A lot of people find it hard to open up to others. Perhaps you can talk to someone at your church or a very close friend. Sometimes it helps to write out your feelings. After you write them, maybe you could give the writings to your Mom and it will open up a dialog. Give it a try OK.

I once was like you. I was depressed and My husband told me that if I could not open to him to go and talk to someone else. I had my doctor recommend me to a therapist and it was the best thing I ever did. The first time I went it was kinda weird. I did not know her and was very uncomfortable. However, by the end of that first session I warmed up to her and I really enjoyed talking to someone I did not know. They did not know anything about me, they could not judge me and it was fresh. They did not know the people that I was talking about and that made all the difference in the world and made it easier to talk about because I knew that whatever I had to get off my chest the people I talked about would never know. Talking to someone you know can be harder because even though they probably would never tell there is that lingering feeling in the pit of your stomach that somehow they would find out. Someone you don't know, it seems to go away and not be important. If you are depressed you need to talk to someone about how you feel. Keeping those feelings inside you can only be destructive to yourself and you are way more important then anything else. Remember you are a star and you need to shine. You have a light and if that light continues to get softer so will your spirit. Good Luck!

Not talking to people will even cause depression sometimes, never mind make it worse. You have to find someone who you know wont' tell anyone what you say, like a counsellor. If the only input you have is your own mind, it can tell you anything. Like right now, you think it'll be horrible to open up to someone and you won't believe anyone who says otherwise, but really it's a very freeing thing.

It sounds like you're suffering from clinical depression. You might want to try taking an anti-depressant and see if that helps, but it will take up to two months to really notice a change. Even if you don't want to talk to someone in person, you can find someone online to talk to. Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger because you don't feel like they're judging you.

i have alot of friends like you
i think you dont talk to ppl because they dont understand
talking will help, it will lift some of your weight but it doesnt nessisarily fix everything
depression can be caused by many things, but i will say this to you there is nothing WRONG with you ..your depressed so that just means you have to work through it

one of my friends died 2 years ago and i have only now just started to break out of my deprerssion so i can kinda relate
either way i ahve a understanding attitude and ive seen or heard just about everything so if you feel the need contact me
it might be easier to express yourself to someone you dont have to actully deal with on a day to day basis

It is normal not wanting to tell your mom if she is not like a friend, You said that you could only trusted god, well girl sometimes when we ask god for help he usually send it in such a way that we don't notice it is in front of us!!!! Maybe the help is that counselor who's gonna be there to listen to ya anytime and that will kepp it quiet!!! Otherwise girl you actuallly don't know me but if I can help ya I will just write to me!! Believe me I've been through this!!! my mail!! doraloca89@yahoo.com

take your mothers advice and go to a counselor.
You don't really have to talk to him\her at first, but they are professionals and you might want to open up after a while.

writing stuff down is also a good idea. just collect it and show it to your counselor if you don't want to talk. That might help them get an idea of what is wrong.

And try juggling. it is relaxing and let your mind rest.

Open up here, it could help. Or find someone u are comfortable with and discuss it. U'll be surprised how just talking about it will lift ur spirits. Whatever u do, don't just sit and sulk. Get busy, find a new hobby, go out, whatever.

You need to find someone you can trust and confide in. Sometimes a complete stranger is easier to talk to about your life problems than your best friend. if its really affecting you though consider talking to your doctor
