I hear lots of people say that they love God. People believe in God often times because it gives them hope. I personally worship him as my creator and protector.

Are you saying when something bad happens we should say, I hate God and Christians always say I love god in public, then do the normal things non believers do, I mean think when they the believer say I love you god and the treat it as it was a person, so as we know people cheat on the people they love in some way or another, but with god you can cheat all you want, because god will always take you back, that is being a god abuser, so do they abuse there kids and spouse the same way
good question by the way

I worship God because He has been good to me and my family. He gave me this life. I don't think God is punishing anyone. He doesn't do that in this life. It isn't until after death that you receive your punishment or reward. I know that my God wouldn't allow anything to happen to me that I couldn't handle with His help. And, since the Bible says "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me", I know that there is nothing this life can throw at me that I cannot handle. You say your family is Catholic, why not try some of the other denominations out there? I am non-denominational or charismatic. If you want to know what we are all about, try the websites below. You can watch their broadcasts online for FREE. Since you have never heard it before, I'll say it for you now....
I LOVE GOD!!!! With all my heart.

Remember one thing: Man bastardizes God, not the other way around.
Don't let others who have a relationship with God offend you, and when others claim that God is angry, or happy, tell them the universe is unfolding exactly as it should. Their interpretation of what is happening is short-sighted at best.
So many people in the streets mugging, killing, etc. Why is no one in the streets saying "I had great sex last night", when you know there is someone who has.
The same thing goes with love. It seems human nature to concentrate on the bad(just like the daily news)

I totally agree with you. I'm a Christian and I don't understand how people can spout nonsense like that. For instance when someone dies and people say "God has a reason for everything." I don't believe natural disasters are an "act of God." I don't believe God is some angry judge waiting for people to mess up so God can squash them like bugs.
Sadly, a lot of people worship God motivated by fear and guilt.

I say I love God all the time. I am sure haven't heard too much good about God, coming from a Catholic family and all (sorry to any Catholics, I don't mean this in harm). See, that's why I am Lutheran...I like the traditional worship the Catholics do, but I don't like that they do make God seem like a tyrant...
I LOVE GOD!!!!

Worshiping is acknowledging the good that God has blessed us with. With music, sex, working out, love, sights, sounds, all of it. Don't get me wrong i'm no hippie thinking all about peace and love while the world is running rampid. Yea, the world is a messed up place. Satan is alive and at work ande we have the power to make corrupted choices with corrupted consequences. But when we reach a state of acknowledgment of the gift of life and knowing there is a God and that we will have soul to soul connection after we roam across the crest of this earth. Thats when worshipping peeks its face.

Certainly you have considered the possibility that those saying God punishes us are wrong. What is their proof?
What reasonable and logical argument can they present that would urge us to say: "Yes! That's true!"
All they have is opinion and it is worth diddleysquat.
God has nothing to do with natural disasters.
You might recall Jesus on the sea of Galilee when he calmed a storm. He CALMED it, he didn't take delight in the havoc it was causing.
He said he does nothing of his own initiative (John 5:19) therefore God looks at things the same way.
We might choose to think of someone else as the instigator, someone who loves reeking havoc.
Hmmmmm, who come to mind?

It's a choice that many choose to make. I love my Heavenly Father, and am thankful for what he has done. There are many who in the face of tragedy would curse God for their bad luck or fate. Maybe those tragedies are nothing more then a test to see if we will put our trust in his infinite wisdom or do just that curse him. I had to face something that was really tough. My oldest daughter was killed on her way home from a church activity. You would think that a group of youth who lived good lives and were participating in a wholesome activity would be protected by GOD. I was upset yes but, I have learned about the incredible mercies and of his great love for me as I have healed and come to terms with the loss. I could of choose to curse GOD but I didn't. I don't worship out of fear but out of great respect to show him that I do choose him and want him to be a part of my life. To acknowledge that I need him and also to make him proud. God is incredible and I am so thankful for the part that He plays in my life. I hope that answers your question, for each person though it is different because it is our choice to have that personal relationship with Him. He waits patiently for all to come to Him

when God punishes us its because of all the sin and horrilbe
things in this world. God does love us and if you worship him
and pray to him he does help you in your life. I couldnt tell you
how many times I have prayed to God and he has answered my
prayers, and despite what you say you havent heard myself and
my family loves God with all of our hearts, we would never fear
God, everything God does is for a reason and I believe and trust
in that reason. And some of the things that happen in this world isnt God working, its the Devil since he is trying to get people to not believe in God so he can get more sinners in this world.
