Illegal Immigration and Public Health
Because illegal immigrants, unlike those who are legally admitted for permanent residence, undergo no medical screening to assure that they are not bearing contagious diseases, the rapidly swelling population of illegal aliens in our country has also set off a resurgence of contagious diseases that had been totally or nearly eradicated by our public health system.

It's an outrage to everyone who lives in the USA and came here legally. Those who bring in disease expose us all to diseases formerly (mostly) eradicated from the U.S. population. Go to the following website and see what illegal immigration has done to compromise our health. Legal immigrants are screened, illegal immigrants are not.

Some of those 'illegal' immigrants live in countries that Americans tourists visit every day. I've seen American college girls living in a hut for the summer with a bunch of rastas. You think they don't bring diseases back with them?

Please do not pretend that you're not just a racist bigot hiding behind a fake concern. Just come right out like the rest of them on Yahoo and hate in the open. I'll have more respect for you that way.

i don't think there's any "resurgence" of anything...just because they're illegal doesn't mean they carry diseases. And if they are over there and get sick maybe it's cause you infected them! Truth is, even with your medical screening you still get sick sometimes, and I'm pretty sure that if illegal immigrants get sick they seek medical attention as well. So i don't think there's any difference in that matter whether you're legal or not.

Your right.....There is no way to check for those things. It is just a shame that these people can be so selfish as not to do the right thing, and it is worse that there are "enablers" in America that tell them that it is ok to break the law. It is not ok at all, not only for the reasons stated in the askers remarks but for many other reasons as well. Humanity doesn't gain anything by letting people do the worst they can do. Quite the contrary. Humanity suffers when people circumvent the law.

Well I was pretty upset that a migrant(illegal) student exposed classmates to TB last year in my local public school. (which my daughter attended at the time) If my daughter had gotten sick, it would be just another reason I am paying for them to be here. It scared me! What good does it do me to be a responsible parent when so many others obviously aren't?

Yes we are hurting because of illegals using services they do not pay for. And it will get worst.

We need Nation Health and we need to say No to many issues.

And we need to not increase problems till we fix the ones we have.

Close the Borders. And send Illegals back

If the health of our society is that easily comprimised perhaps that fact suggests that we are not that entirely healthy. Your greatest health comes from eating living a healthy life.
