Never did my own, but here's a step by step:

How To Put Rollers in Your Hair
Quick Tip

Have you ever wondered if there is a method to placing rollers in your hair? Here is what works for me, but it is only a simple guideline to help you get started.
You will need:

-tail comb for sectioning
-rollers (pick size in according to the desired curl size)
-pins if needed for rollers
-styling mist

Shampoo and condition your hair. Allow to partially dry and then add your favorite styling product. Usually a product that can be sprayed on is the easiest to work with.

I like to start at the crown and work my way around, but you can use whatever works for you. Your first attempt may seem messy, but practice is all you need. Starting at the crown seems to keep everything neat for me, but again, use whatever method works for you.

Section off your hair using a tail comb and apply your first roller. The section of hair should be no wider than the roller. Pin the roller in place if necessary. Continue until all hair is rolled and secured. It is also important that the roller is firmly in place against the scalp. This will lift the root and give you a better curl.

If you find that your hair is drying out before you finish rolling your sections, mist again and continue.

When you have finished putting all of your hair into rollers, spray the entire set with hairspray and then allow to dry on its own, or use a bonnet dryer.

When completely dry, gently and carefully remove rollers.

The styling comes next.

get the right size curlers for your hair. If long get bigger curlers if short get smaller. Also depends on how tight you want your curls. Then part your hair in sections enough to fill up the roller not to much that it's bulky. Pull the hair up towards the ceiling put the roller at the top and roll the roller down. Pin the roller with a clip depending on what kind of curlers you have. Let hair dry if it's wet when u start. take out and fingercomb your locks. Hope that helps

First section your hair. Make a part where the top meets the back and make a part on each side of your hair where the top meets the sides. Start with the top section near the back and evenly gather up hair. Place the roller around the ends of that hair and slowly and evenly roll towards the back not front. Always roll your hair under. Do the same for the back and side sections. If you have too much hair on the roller it will not stay in and you may have to thin out the tuft of hair you have gathered for rolling....good luck

section off some hair, spray with some spritz/styling gel, start with roller at the ends and roll it up. the smaller the roller - the tighter -smaller the curl. the more rollers you use the more the curls and fullness.
