Unfortunately Churches are made up of humans who are not perfect or even walking in the love of Christ all the time. there are some very good churches who care about the needs of the members of their church as well as those who are not members of their church. As in anything else there are some bad apples in any large organization or group of people.

If I were him I would consider a long talk with the powers that be at that "organization" and if they remain unsympathatic I would find a Christ like church that follows the teachings and example of Christ.

Many churches do. I find that those that don't help those in need are not really following the teachings of Christ. By their fruits ye shall know them. If I were him I would change churches and let a church who really does follow Christ get his tithes. When my husband's son died he went back to his old church where he had been a lay preacher and asked for help to bury his son. They said no. He son had become Mormon so he went to his son's Bishop who not only took care of the funeral also had a meal available after wards for any who were in need of it and even had a member of that ward put my husband up while he was in town (as he lived in a different state at that time).

So know there are churches out there who do care if all religions.

Sorry to hear of his loss.

The purpose of tithes in the bible is so such people can be helped. The church is out for gain and not to feed or tend the flock. If the purse of the church is lean, members should come together to help him privately. That church is clearly not preaching the full gospel.

Nope, not my church. Not only is there help financially, but they seek means of finding them jobs, and pray for them. If there aren't any jobs available, the church pays them to work for the church in some way, it may not be much but its better then not having a job at all.

You're full of crap. No church tells a member to kiss off unless the person has really screwed the church over real bad.

It's because he must be SATAN'S CHILD!!!

We may never know, my friend. My grampa is dying and all his stupid church can do is come over here and tell me it's my fault he's dying because I'm a Wiccan.

In case you haven't noticed, being good isn't exactly top on most Church's lists.

Besides, helping him wouldnt't 'help the church'

If they help they will not be able to affort to pay their own homes & cars. That sucks for your friend. I hope gets better. He might want to find a different religion. Like Jehovah's Witness!!!

Christians are merely politicians who weren't charismatic enough to make it to office. Bloodthirsty selfish money grubbing thieves.
