Tha is odd I stay aways from shakes from there cause they do the smae thing to me.I hate it.Just do what I do and don't buy shakes from there anymore.I go anywhere but McDonalds for my shakes. As for why it happens I don't know I been trying to find that one out myself.

They are made with poor products possibly. If you are looking for a quality milk shake, why are buying them from McDonalds?
