I was looking through an Auto Magazine and there were disclaimers under some of auto dealers that said the prices were dependent on your Isaac report. Does is have to do with some sort of credit report? How can I find out what mine is?

Your "Issac Score" is not exactly the same thing as your FICO score. Although the FICO term is commonly used, it actually represents many scores. More specifically, your Fair-Issac score is your credit score as computed by the Fair Issac Corporation (FICO) for EXPERIAN. Each of the three major credit bureaus (Experian which was formerly called TRW, TransUnion and Equifax), have their own version of a credit score generated by FICO. Another common score used by many Banks is the Beacon Score which is calculated for Equifax by FICO. TransUnion calls theirs a Empirica or Precision score. The FICO generated scores from the three bureaus are almost never the same and can vary by well over 100 points. If you intend on visiting one of the dealers in that magazine and they state Issac Score as part of their criteria, you will need to get a copy of your credit report from EXPERIAN only. This can be purchased directly from Experian.

They're talking about your Fair-Isaac score on your credit report. Fair-Isaac is a company that developed the numeric scoring system for credit ratings used by most lenders. It's commonly referred to as your FICO score.

You can purchase a credit report from any of the major credit bureaus with or without your FICO score. The annual free report that all Americans are entitled to does NOT include the FICO score at present.
