IT DOESNT MEAN THE SAME THING.. BEING ON FIRE FOR JESUS IS TO WORSHIP HIM FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR US.. TO BE ON FIRE IN HELL IS TO BE IN FOREVER TORMENT FOR OUR SINS IF WE DONT HAVE REMORSE FOR OUR PAST SINS.. THE CAN WE GO TO HEAVEN...

Then you apparently have never had an experience with Jesus-as did Saul(Paul) on the road to Damascus- or the Holy Ghost. Otherwise, you would understand the true meaning of being on fire for Jesus. Peter - one of the original twelve - is a perfect example. Read Acts and pray for God to give you the same type of experience.

It is a figure of speech - it means "fired up" or excited - passionate!
On the day of Pentecost, Peter and the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit as tongues of flame descended on them. Someone already mentioned the burning bush. Also in the bible it says "God is a consuming fire" So fire isn't always bad.

Actually, "on fire" is a description of the scripture, "Let your light shine before men," Jesus noted that people don't "light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house" (Matthew 5:15-16).
Another reference for "fire" was the burning bush when the voice of God spoke to Moses, directing Moses to lead God's children out of bondage in Egypt.
Fire was also used by God in the form of purification in the Old Testament, as well as in the New Testament in Acts 2:3, "They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them," which was the Holy Spirit.

When they say they are on "fire" for Jesus, it does not mean that they are actually burning. It is a figure of speech.
A good example: Let's say you just got a big promotion (with the good pay) on your job. You tell your best friend during lunch: I'm on cloud nine!!! Does that mean you are actually on a cloud that has a number OR does it mean that you are so excited and elated to having gotten the promotion? Same kool-aid, different flavor.

I believe the term "on fire" originated out of the events in Acts chapter 2, in which the church was born. Verse three reads: And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them." When a Christian says that he is on fire for Jesus it means that he is filled with the Holy Spirit. This is the most desirable state for any Bible-believing Christian to be in. To refer to them as holy-rollers is insulting---it is just as offensive as any racial slur. Fire is a punishment of hell, but it is a different kind of fire in hell as opposed to the fire of God. the fire of God is his Spirit.

On fire for Jesus means full of the Holy Ghost. Just like on the day of Pentecost - the book of Acts explains it completely. "There were cloven tongues of fire that sat on each of them."
What that means is, the power of the Holy Ghost was like as a fire...it didn't burn them. It represents the power of God Almighty!
I've experienced it so many times and it's incredible to be "on fire for Jesus!"

Fire is used figuratively to describe the intensity of a feeling. Hell is not a physical place full of burning flames and sulfur. It describes the mental anguish we will feel knowing that we willfully rebelled against God and knowing that we are forever separated from his presence. Fire can also describe the intense spiritual feelings associated with the presence of the Holy Spirit.

No,no,no,no! On fire in the christian way for most of us mean that the spirit of the Holy Ghost is all over this individual. You will feel a warmth covering your body and a desire to praise him, to do his will etc. Action speaks louder then words. Repent and receive the Holy Ghost and you will understand this thing.

Fire is not necessarily a bad thing. It is only America and a few European countries that think of Christian Hell as being hot and on fire. My minister, before I converted to Hinduism, was from Puerto Rico and he always thought of Hell as ice cold. South America, Mexico, Spain, etc. all think of it as ice cold. I guess it is all in your interpretation or if you even believe in hell for that matter.

It's just an expression! "All fired up" "On fire" all these are just intending to express someone's unbridled enthusiasm about their relationship with Jesus. Nothing to do with punishment.
Romans 8:1 " There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit."
