I'm looking for a nice, romantic place to stay in Santa Monica for my wedding anniversary. I'm thinking about Shutters On the Beach. It's a bit pricey. Is it worth it? Any other suggestions?

Yes, it is very expensive, but Shutters is just gorgeous. It really is right on the beach, so the view is stunning. And if you stay in SM, I recommend dining right on the pier at The Lobster, and make sure you try whatever red wine on the list that is from CLAUTIERE vineyards -- the winemakers own the restaurant.
I don't know what your budget is, but you might also want to look further from LA/Santa Monica and consider OC beach cities (HB, Laguna, et al). Or even coast north from Malibu to Santa Barbara.

its the perfect place to stay for a romantic weekend...not the best for business as they missed my wakeup call twice. Make sure to get an ocean view room. great beds and bedding, great tubs...great bar across the street at the other hotel.
