Why do we choose to attack others sin?
Why ban gay marriage, or ban abortion, when even pro-lifers are sinful?
Is this quote true?
"If we are to hate anything, let it be ourselves. If we must crusade against the sinful humanity, let only the just men judge others. But there are of course, men alive today that are sinless. We are all sinful, so why not hate our own sin? It does far more to say I am sinful than to say you are sinful." -Ryan Mease

it should say that there are no men alive today that are sinless.

NOTE: this is on a moral/spiritual standpoint, not a legal one.
but I find humor in some of your attempts to twist my intentions.
others are just sad.

Christians often confuse hate with love. I've never met a christian who condemns him or her self. They spend their time condemning everyone else. The only way to grow in any form of truth is to keep judging only yourself. If we each practiced this instead what a better world this would be.

True there are no men or women alive today who are sinless. Why must we hate ourselves? I would think regret should be thoughtful and enduring so that it shapes a person's behavior and outlook in the future. I noticed that there's a huge group of people on here who have an answer for everything and are spitting out Bible phrases like robots. If they want to convert people to Christianity it's not the way.
Let us think about sin and decide for ourselves what are our worst sins. Of course you can say God will judge us or karma will reward us accordingly. What other people say God or sin is may not agree with my own privately held set of beliefs.

(coming from a Christian perspective) Well, you can't simply excuse others' sin because that itself would be sinful. It's inherent in sin's nature that sin is destructive--and I don't mean just that sin will keep you out of heaven, but that sin has a bad effect on you on earth. Sometimes the effect is obvious, like the effects that drug addiction has, and sometimes it's much more subtle. Letting people go on with their sin and saying that it's ok is akin to letting somebody light themselves on fire and say it's ok.
That being said, it's absolutely idiotic when Christians think that they're "better" than others or that certain hot-button sins like homosexuality are "worse' than other sin--that's completely untrue. If anything, although Christians are better off since their sins are forgiven, a Christian is a "worse" sinner than others because they more than anybody else should know better!
Morover, most of the way that Christians attack the sin of others is done very hatefully--their goal is not to help the person, but rather to subtly puff themselves up by attacking the other person. They want to focus on the sins of others so that by contrast they don't feel quite so sinful. Doing that is far worse--there's a reason Jesus spent so much time critizing the Pharisees, who did exactly that.
And just an FYI, banning gay marriage seems very silly to me. If Christians really want to protect the "sanctity of marriage", they should start with doing something about the 50% divorce rate first. I've seen firsthand the effects that living in a broken home has on the kids since many of my friends have divorced parents, and that deserves the attention of the church far more than gay marriage (especially since banning gay marriage isn't going to prevent homosexuals from living or sleeping together at all).
Abortion, however, I think should be outlawed for the same reason that murder should be outlawed. Although I realize that on occasion a girl who chooses to not have an abortion ruins her life because of it because she might have to drop out of school to care for a baby or be disowned by her family or whatever, the vast majority of abortions are simply girls who want to have sex without consequence and who don't want the bother of a baby. In the latter cases, there is no excuse for abortion. In the former, I think that we should have a support network set up to help girls in those situations before outlawing abortion.

It is true, no one is without sin. Why is it that I automatically hate someone if I disagree with something they do? Do I agree with everything my boss, coworkers, parents, sisters, children, local law enforcement, government officials, or even the president say and do? Well, no. Does that mean I hate them? Again, no. The way I see it, unless the pregnancy is a result of a crime (incest, rape), then abortion is a hate crime. It is our future that people are aborting. It is the next Einsteins, Mozarts, Galileos, and Dr. King jr.s. The only people on this earth that are without sin are the unborn, the ones getting murdered in the thousands everyday. No one in the prolife community is claiming to be perfect from what I am aware. We are just asking people to protect their and our futures.

the quote is for you,
i often find it truthful when i talk to people to say if these are sins against god then so it is and i have committed them
jihad starts for the muslim with his or her own spiritual self examination
jesus said let he who is without sin throw the first stone
your quote merely states before we society pass laws on other people we must examine what sins we do that would be illegal also in the eyes of our god
the idea that people twist what you said is proof yahoo answers is become a sounding board of agenda
my agenda in clicking the question was to read what you asked, and answer
did i satisfy the requirement

Yes, hate is wrong. Unfortunately people choose to ignore this and believe that it's ok to hate certain people, such as those who support pro-choice or gay marriage. Hate has lead to so many different injustices, from the Holocaust and world war two to numerous genocides to the destruction of the twin towers on September 11th of 2001. Hate is most definitely wrong.

To ban a sinful act, even if you are sinful, is more noble than just giving up!
To hate bad or evil things like war or lying or causing harm to another person or their property is OK.
To hate a person is NOT OK
We need to make sure we separate the actions of a person from the person ....love the sinner hate the sin..
The Quote:
We should hate the sin in our lives not ourselves
no one is alive today that is sinless. Christians believe God looks past their sins and sees them as sinless but they still have sin. to admit you are sinful and to try to make it right, is better than to point out others sinfulness in order to make yourself look good. God doesn't compare your sins to my sins.
When we die God compairs your sins to his perfection and my sins to his perfection and then checks to see if we admited our wrong doings and accepted his forgivness. I would recommend doing that before I die rather than after I die.

tis true that there are no man today sinless. it is wrong to hate anyone, and it's impossible to hate your self, unless you kill yourself, and that is not just a sin, but also against the law of this country(usa). God didn't create people so they can get married to the same sex. abortion is killing people. very young people, but they are people. killing is a sin as well as it is against the law of bible. the child that's killed inside of stomach doesn't choose to be living...his parents choose for him, therefore they should let him live even if he/she was created by a mistake. if you have anything to say to me, contact me please.

Wikipedia defines hate as an emotion of intense revulsion, distaste, enmity, or antipathy for a person, thing, or phenomenon; a desire to avoid, restrict, remove, or destroy its object. It also states that "Hate" can also describe a state in which one strongly desires another living being to experience pain or negative affects, be they emotional or physical.
When one hates, there is the strong desire to destroy one's object of hate or there is the strong desire to wish others pain or misfortune. So,YES, hate is wrong. The intense negative emotion hate induces may motivate a person to harm others.
Sometimes, however, when we dislike something, we say we hate them. There is a difference between dislike and hate. More often, we just dislike things, not really hate them.
