It hasn't been quite that long - he died 35 C.E or some year near and it is now 2006. But yes - that is an awfully long time considering many of the early believers are recorded to have thought his return was imminent. Matthew 24 also suggests that his generation would not pass away until the tribulation and his return. Certainly does seem like he missed his appointment, but maybe something about all this is misunderstood - i.e., his words or the expectation of this itself. To me that is good evidence supporting he actually did ressurect, because no one would resonably expect him to return again if they didn't see him return once already.

Many Chrisitians want not only every word of the Bible (which has been translated and rewritten by people with different theologies many times) to be right, but it to fit their interpretation of it. So they come up with scenarios to make it all fit in their minds rather than ponder the difficult questions and admit there are some things few if any of us know.

That is the best strategy of the enemy ..to make God's people give up on Christ's return. If you pay attention to the signs, everything is in place for Christ to return any day!! However, so many people are lost and have no Eternal life. That is the reason for his delay... Too many people would be destroyed... For every day that Jesus does not return, it shows his compassion for a lost and dying world. ..He merely came and died so we could find Eternal Life. People use their time on earth so unwisely.... Our life on earth is temporary, but we waste our time trying to get things that have NO value in Eternity.. No one ever leaves this earth with a U-haul beside them...Life on earth can be easily summarized. Find your Eternal Life through Jesus first and then you are ready to live. If you live first, you will be so busy living that you will never stop and find the Free gift of Eternal life provided through JESUS..... Seek First the Kingdom of God and his Righteousness and then all these things will be added to you....CHOOSE JESUS CHOOSE LIFE>>>>>> and then live everyday as if he is going to return!!!!

Peter was one of the twelve. He said this:

"First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation"...
"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." ~2 Peter 3:3-4,8-9

We dont have to give up the ghost. We have every reason to believe that what Jesus said in the Bible is true, because the Bible has never been proven wrong. in fact, nearly every historical record noted in the Bible has been confirmed repeatedly by archaeological findings, and every prophecy concerning Jesus written in the OT came true. therefore, i have absolutely no reason to doubt that the prophecies about the end days will come true, and no reason to doubt Jesus' promise that he will come back to take his Church.

He will come and all of the people that didn't believe are going to be in for a lot of hard times the seven years after He comes, to say the least!

1) biblical years were not 365 days
2) the prophecy given by Daniel is superseded by the 'age of grace' - the time were in now
3)Jesus said no one knows when hes returning

and if that wasnt enough:
4) read the words that describe His second comming, "blink of an eye", " like a lightning bolt", "like a theif in the night"

It dosent sound to me anyways its trying to tell us when hes returning..sounds to me like its trying to say its gonna be BLAM!!! "Hey were did Robert go? he was here a second ago???"
