I was told I have been at work only 80% of the time in the last 1140 hours, which I don't understand. I was also told that being here only that amount of time means that I only work an average of 6 hours a day vs. 8 hours a day. I looked at my time sheets for the last 1140 hours and I have used 87 hours of leave. Does this calculate to 20% of my time being away from work?

20% of 1140 is 228 hours. (1140 * 0.20 = 228)

If you missed 87 hours, then you have missed approximately 87 / 1140 = 7.6% of your scheduled work. Not 20%, but not insignificant. It means you show up 92.4% of the time.

That comes to about 8 * 0.924 = 7.392 hours per day.

For your sake I hope you get paid salary and not hourly. :)

Actually, 228 is 20% of 1140. That's alot more than 87 hours. Sounds like someone has something wrong in their numbers.

The answer is 228.

1140 divided by 5, which is 20% of 1140, comes to 228.

20% of 1140 hours is 228 hours. There is a vast discrepancy between your leave and their recorded time; have you been sick or late often?

.2 * 1140 = 228 hours
Either your math is off, or theirs is.
