The simple answer is that most Creationists don't understand Evolution and attack it because they percieve it to be a threat to their faith.
There are some Creationists though that do know they are spreading misinformation and continue to do so for the goal of spreading Creationism. They are the lowest of the low.
EDIT: Evolutionary Theory is most certainly NOT a Hypothesis. It has it's basis in many pieces of evidences and has ben tested extensively for over 100 years.
Good example of some of it's tests:

I not Involved with Creationist . I dont really know what that has to do with Darwinian Evolution.
However Carefull analysis indicates that darwinian Evolution was conceived backwards and that so called evolution scientist are misinterpreting the theory to the detriments of medical science.
Experiments and socio-scientific and biological analysis have show the opposite of Evolution theory. The theory will be replaced with a more realistic theory called"inverse evolution theory" question have been asked why are so many people do not believe in the Philosophical theory of Evolution . The response is that they must be ignorant Christians.
Well you dont have to be a christian to realize that Darwinian theory of Evolution does not make any sense. And is basically an insult to our Intelligence. I would be glad to supply scientific data to show that is the case.
Note about Dna it was Gregor Mendell that developed realistically by experiment the rules on Heredity And genetics, not Evolutionist Darwin.
Genetics is a science and Evolutionists are trying to say its their science . That is not so.You cannot musle in on Mendell and take the credit. The problem is that Genetics Proves the opposite of Evolution.WE have had enough Experience and studies on
that. Its getting so boring just to dicuss that.
Let alone the Phsycological effects Of Evolution inculcation on our children .Their self Esteem is down to the level of apehood.
Children did not evolve from apelike beings They were born out of loving parents and it only took 270 days not one 100billion days.!
As far as Time testing and aging its not really neccessarily following and exponential decay any more then the rapid explosion of an Explosive .
No One Human was there at the Big Bang even if it ever existed.

Religion is not based on empirical evidence. It is, by very definition in the realm of the unprovable. Religions have done SOME good in world history.
There are also psychological reasons why religion is a common feature today and in history. In many traditions, especially in the West, God (or gods) sides with one particular people. This superiority has uses. It helps people find logical reasons for war and conquest. That's good for the king or ruler. That's probably, incidentally, why ALL MAJOR RELIGIONS SURVIVED because they either had the support of the government in their homeland at some point, or at least the majority of people in a given region. Other religions (there have been many) are eventually wiped out. Even those few traditions that are adhered to by only a tiny number of people started with their own communities, however small.
When these religions lost direct political purpose, the idea of superiority ("I get to go to heaven and you don't") was a sweet enough thought for people to hold on to. The idea that one's enemies will burn forever in hell has some appeal as well.
Finally, the religion business is quite lucrative if you appeal to the masses. Look at TV evangelism, as well as religious organizations that rake in money from people who don't even ask questions about where the money goes. Simply talk the talk, and rich little old ladies will shower the currency.

Note that even with the error factor, Radioisotopes still prove the earth billions of years older than Creationist claim.
That in itself is misinformation. Radioisotopes give evidence toward an older earth but dont conclusivly prove it. In fact, radioactivity could have occured at a faster rate in the future or before a catestrophic world event.

in the biological world evolution is an ongoing process that speeds up with necessity (food supply)and climate change
and this all makes sense .except for humans.
possible genetic experimentation on humanoids ,could accounts for the different near humans ,such as Neanderthal,Magnum, home erectus ,and sapian etc.,all being alive around the same time.
the story of the Anunaki Also makes a lot of sense
Who was known as the creator and who bred a slave race to mine gold for him . who supplied these people with a story of their origin ,the symbolic story of Adam ,and a basic religion,so that the people could be controlled and would have some kind of feeling of purpose,
And this was supposed to be 300.000 years ago.
and all through most ancient history are references of various Alien interference, manipulation and settlement, even crossbreeding ,as well as cloning and genetic engineering.
no wonder humanity turned out so varied and confused

Science is awesome. The answer to your question is the lack of proper understanding and listening. But let me go on a diatribe, here.
Creationism... well, isn't it a big joke? How can any of this religious obscenity be true? Isn't there already enough proof as it is that evolution is the best hypothesis so far?
Creationism is a big joke, as far as I'm concerned, but I find it sad that people believe this.

The likelyhood of us "evolving" from matter is according to scientific theory and molecular biologists is 1 in 10 to 100,000,000,000 th power... Even if all the matter in the universe were converted into the buildding blocks of life (amino acids, and nucleotides), and assembly of these blocks were attempted every microsecond for 17 billion years (the approx. age of the universe). the probablility would still be 10 to the 84th power which is 10 with like 5 hundred zeros behind it! I personally find it much more compelling a case to believe in god and the Bible than think we just evolved from matter. Do the research numbers don't lie...
PS If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes ? ....

As long as the debate is outside of a science curriculum, there is a lot of input from both sides that is equally valuable. Consider listening to the other side and try to see the issue from that perspective. It doesn't mean you have to change your mind, but it might lead to a little more civility in the discussion.

They spread misinformation because they know they are fighting a losing battle. Without facts to fall back on, they just keep chanting the same old mantra.....becoming more and more hysterical the more free thinkers they encounter. You'd think they'd tire of it, eventually.....
