Why do you want to avoid it? I wanted to because I wasn't too swift with first year Algebra. It turned out Geometry was a breeze for me. A totally different way of looking at the problem and, for me, much more understandable. I may be a bit biased, but I say give it a shot. It isn't Trig or Analytical Geometry, right? You may be pleasantly surprised. Also, what are you going to do that doesn't include geometry?

You do need it! Geometry is an important class. (And for most people, it's easier than Algebra. It's especially easy if you have a strong visual/kinesthetic sense.) Geometry teaches you a lot of important basic skills you need to succeed in life. You will also need a strong background in Geometry to do well on standardized tests like the SAT. Good luck.
