I think you'll have to go low-tech: Flea comb. It's time-consuming but highly effective.

You can use a topical flea treatment on the cat that is not nursing the kittens. On the other cat, and kittens, the only safe things are gentle shampoos that do not have any insecticides. The one I like is Pert Plus, which tends to kill the fleas. Then you have to use a flea comb to keep up with the live fleas at least once daily. Fleas can cause serious diseases in cats, so you have to be very aggressive in treatment. Just be safe because of the babies!

That's tough. You should never use chemicals on kittens that young, or the nursing mother. I would try getting a flea comb and getting rid of any fleas that way. Dip the comb in soapy water each time you run it through the fur to kill any fleas you may have caught. A careful bath with a very gentle kitten shampoo will help get rid of any eggs the fleas may have laid.

I have heard that companies test the flea meds on cats but the dose is powerful enough for something larger such as a horse. Ask your vet, but I think you can maybe split up a tube of the Advantage or Revolution on the kittens. I worked for a pet sotre where we had to treat Siberian Dwarf Hamsters (which are tinnnnyyy) and we just put one drop on each of them.

It sounds like they are basically sharing. there became one episode on animal planet's "Too attractive" the place a mom and daughter had kittens an afternoon aside. They shared the kittens. Then mom have been given ill so the daughter took over the mothering of each of the kittens. while mom became extra perfect, they went back to sharing the kittens.

You can submerge the kitten in warm water- obviously only to their neck, don't drown em.To get most of the fleas off. I did this. Then grab tweezers and pluck them off- hold the fleas in a cup of water til they drown so they dont jump back on em.Poor kitten. Call a vet too.

yea. that's a tuff one beacuse the kittens are too young to be exposed to chemicals and the mother could get harmed. i say just wait a couple of weeks and there are bound to be some products out there that are accepable for kittens

I advice you not to make experiments on your cat and her babies. Take them to a vet, he surely knows what you should do. First of all, he 'll check them all. Secondly, if there is such a thing, he 'll give you the recipe to make them healthy again.
