I am a Christain, but, my teacher made this comment in class and it kind of troubled me.

He said:

If the Bible is true we know that Jesus is God and God's son. So the Bible said Jesus worshiped God. So if Jesus is God, does He worship Himself?

Please help me bc/ I'm so confused!

God Willing I will try to answer this question so you can understand it.

FIRST CHRIST WAS THERE BEFORE HE WAS BORN

CHRIST IS GOD - he is the second person of God

example: your body, mind and spirit are all YOU
the same: 1-The Father , 2-the Son and 3-Holy Spirit are all the ONLY ONE GOD

so when God created Heaven and Earth, GOD ( the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) did the creation.

WHEN GOD ( THE SON) TOOK THE FORM OF A MAN TO SAVE MAN, HE TOOK ALL ATTRIBUTES OF HUMAN EXCEPT SIN SO THAT WHEN HE DIES AND RISES, ALL HUMAN CAN BE REDEEMED BECAUSE FORGIVENESS CAN ONLY HAPPEN IF THE SIN IS REDEEMED.. ADAM AS A FATHER AND ALL HIS SONS WERE SUPPOSED TO DIE ( NOT IN THE FLESH BUT FOREVER) , THAT IS WHY GOD SENT CHRIST TO BE THAT MAN THAT DIES BECAUSE HE CAN ONLY ACCEPT HIM AS A SACRIFICE TO REDEEM THE WHOLE WORLD .... ( this is a long discussion but I am just summarzing)

ANY WAYS,

CHRIST SAID I AM IN THE FATHER AND THE FATHER IN ME AND HE SAID WHO SEEN ME HAS SEEN THE FATHER BECAUSE HE IS GOD

example .. when you think of an idea your mind is the one actually thought about it but I don't say your brain is who thought of the idea but YOU are the one who thoughtof the idea even though technically your mind is who thought of the idea.. I can't seperate you from your mind...

Back to what I was saying,

He worshipped God and prayed and fasted and was baptized and he didn't need to do that but He did it to be the perfect example for us to follow him as CHRIST and that is why we are called CHRISTians ..

I can explain further but I will stop here .. I hope that answers your question... just remember there was NOT anytime that passed that CHRSIT WAS NOT in existence.

The Bible states that God is the Great I AM. Meaning that he is all things. Jesus is the son of God. Meaning that God created Jesus meaning the physical man. It also states that God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Ghost). These things are not of the physical meaning, they are of the spiritual. Jesus worshiped God when he was a physical man. When he assendend into heaven he became the whole spiritual being. The Great I Am. Feel free the contact me. Jaronry

Jesus worshipped God because he knew that God was THE God, the creator of the universe. But Jesus is constituent, meaning 'part of a whole.' The trinity is Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and God himself. They're three in one. Jesus worshipped God to not only talk to his father but to set an example for us believers down on earth.

No - this is part of the mystery of the Triune God. Jesus worships the father. Jesus and the Father are both God but are distinct persons in that single God. So it sounds like your teacher doesn't understand the concept of the Trinity very well. I'd talk with your pastor about it.

No. He worships God the Father. He is God the Son. The Trinity is a difficult concept to understand, but Jesus is/was fully God and is one with God, but is His own individual at the same time.

The trinity (and by that, I mean God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit) has always been a very confusing thing to me.

When my son was in Kindergarten (we homeschool), his Bible textbook explained it like this: you are part of a family. Let's just say your famliy name is Smith. You're part of the Smith family. The three persons in the trinity make up the God family. Imagine that their last name is God. Three entities that make up one family. Just like three family members are separate people but ONE family. That's the only way I can think of it so that it actually makes sense.

As for the teacher discussing this, doesn't that violate a law? It appears that he was promoting anti-Christian views. He would definitely be in trouble if he were saying something GOOD about Christianity. But promoting any religion (even atheism) is not allowed in schools. Get him in trouble. : ) But hey, aren't teachers promoting atheism when they teach evolution??? Why is THAT legal?

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are distinct, but not separate, parts of the one true God. Jesus (the Son) worshipped the Father.

I'm not a bible expert but I am a christian and from my understand Jesus said that to worship me is to worship God.

They are one in the same (such as the Trinity is God, Jesus and the holy ghost) Jesus is the son of God, but no Jesus did not worship his self or go around boasting of himself.

I hope this helps.

Jesus distinctly refered to God the Father as "Father" many times in the gospels, especially in John. There is some clear distinction between the Son and the Father, although there are some verses in Phillipians and Colossians that say Jesus was God. I was taught that the Trinity is three persons and one being. They're all connected yet there are some different differences between the three "persons."

There is basically 1 God
and Jesus IS the son of God
and God is God.
