Nobody is shaking in their boots, my friend. We just are pointing out to the 'goverment school' educated amongst us, who are unable to distinguish between fact and fiction, that the book is fiction, and contains not a shred of truth.

The reason people get so bent out of shape over it is because Dan Brown, the author, says that it is all fact. It's not so much the novel itself I have an issue with. (In fact, it's the type of novel I normally enjoy a lot.) It's more about the fact that he's calling fiction fact that bothers me. Now you also notice that he did this by first writing a novel, then declaring it fact, rather than writing a historical study and publishing that. That way anything we point to he can just say, "Well that part was just part of the novel." He's tried to put the gnostic gospels at the same level as the canonical gospels. They just aren't. Nothing he says will make them as early, as accurate, or as widely accepted. But he will make claims that they were early, that they are accurate, and that they were widly accepted, and in a novel, he doesn't have to cite sources and when he gets pushed on it, he can just say, "Well, I did that part as a story point." In the mean time, he goes on talk shows and radio shows, and says that it isn't just a story point, that it's all real, and does everything he can to make people believe that. It's a dirty trick. And for lots of people, it's worked. They've bought it, and several people have asked me what I have to say about this or that, and when I say, "Where did you hear that?" they say, "The Da Vinci Code" fully believing it's historically accurate.

I don't believe it but I have to agree it starting to raise eyebrows because it is being put down so much like someone is trying to hide something. The way people are protesting is only making the situation worse if you ask me. My grandmother always said Jesus did no wrong and people talked bad about him, why you think no one is gonna talk about you? By her saying this made me realize even though people may spread falsehood about me, that I should not get so worked up about it because that's how this world is. I only tell people that the Da Vinci Code is fiction and the writers have said it over and over again. People are gonna believe what they want regardless.

The knife in Peter's hand represents the sword he used to cut back off the soldier's ear whilst they got here to arrest Jesus on the backyard of Gethsemane. there's no reality to the Da Vinci Code. learn many different renaissance artwork & all youthful adult adult males look effeminate with long hair and no beard. it particularly is John sitting next to Jesus in Da Vinci's final Supper & no longer Mary. Edit: Peter with the knife additionally represents his vow of following Jesus onto dying yet he might deny understanding Jesus thrice earlier the hen crowed.

No, I do not.
There is no proof, and, the book itself is marked as fiction. It's written format is to make those THINK it is real, for conspiracy ideas, creativity purposes and thought-provoking readers...like "The Blair Witch Project" was originally marketed- the way it was advertised and the website online...many thought this was a true story. Even how th emovie was done- very original and real-life like. But it was all made up.
Same thing with the DaVinbci Code Book, and real conspiracy concept.
The Bible's proof is that many of it's stories can be backed up by proof- historically, medically, geographical, scientific and archeological. Plus, many prophecies have been fulfilled. And many people who follow it will tell you that it's contents, its words, have been life-altering.
What's scary is that someone did such careful research to find fact, carefully intertwine it with fiction, all to mislead people. And what's scarier? That people are buying into it! God help them.
One FYI Fact: The idea that Leonardo was a member of "The Priory of Sion" is based on a document proven by a French court of law to be a forgery and a hoax!
Then the DVC plays on an alternative view of "history" by also falsely stating that Jesus was not regarded as a God until the fourth century when the Roman emperor Constantine decided it was in his own political interests to unite the empire by giving Jesus "an impenetrable cloak of divinity" (The Da Vinci Code, p.233).
If any of this is true, then the ENTIRE Binle has to be false. Uh...I don't think so!
So you're telling me, that this man, Dan Brown, who we don't really know anything about other than he wrote this book, is so enlightened that he broke the world's most fascinating and spiritual words. Yah, right! Maybe we can get him a role on TV's "Stargate Atlantis" or something, but really- give it up, Danny B.!
Maybe this will satisfy your curiosity: The Da Vinci Code claims that some of the documents Constantine tried to destroy managed to survive in scrolls found in 1945 at Nag Hammadi, Egypt. These scrolls allegedly "highlight glaring historical discrepancies and fabrications, clearly confirming that the modern Bible was compiled and edited by men who possessed a political agenda—to promote the divinity of the man Jesus Christ and use His influence to solidify their own power base" (The Da Vinci Code, p.234).
The ancient texts found at Nag Hammadi, however, were not "lost books of the Bible," as Teabing claims. They were the writings of a mystery religion known as Gnosticism. Gnostics viewed spirit as good and matter as evil. They denied the physical body and crucifixion of Jesus and emphasized a secret knowledge received only by those initiated into the religion. The early church rejected their teachings long before Constantine.
Dan Brown and fellow fans apparently thinks it's exciting to show Jesus as an ordinary human being with strong leanings toward goddess worship. That's called blasphemy, and those who go by that will be dealt with BY th eone they speak wrongly about (can we say "false teachers"?).
But the biblical story of Jesus, God manifested in the flesh, coming to earth as a man to die and rise again for our salvation-is definitely more more exciting, don't you think? Tell people a much better story: one that has the added advantage of being true! Praise Jesus!
And the best thing about this new craze, is everything that satan does and uses us to do, God allows, because He turns it around for good! Always! God is in control of all things. Things like this way of believing can make or break a faith. I will use it to talk about who Jesus really was, and to warn others of all the false prophets and teachers! Thanks for the open door DB! I don't need to make money off it- my blessings will come plenty from the Lord!
On the basis of research, scholars assure us that the King James Version Bible is a highly reliable representation of the original manuscripts. Backed by such evidence, the Bible also remains the all-time bestselling and most widely read book in the world. Challengers come and go. What remain are the words of those who were willing to die for their claim that they personally witnessed the miraculous life, death, and resurrection of the Son of God.
One of those witnesses wrote:
"For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty" (2 Peter 1:16).
