It all depends on your current life situation. If you are too young, or financially unstable then yes it would be a great idea. Adoption is a way to give a child the life they deserve. You must analyze your situation and decide what is best for the child not what is best for you. Thinking of yourself would be selfish and unfair to the child. The child did not ask to be born. Bring the child into a home that is loving, caring and financially able to provide for the child. I gave my first born up for adoption and he has had a wonderful life. Better than I could have given him at the time. He is now 18 and just graduated from a private high school and is on his way to college in the fall. I have no regrets b/c he has had everything in his life that I could have never given him. That does not mean that it did not hurt to give him away, but I could deal with my grief from his loss better than I could have trying to raise him at that point in my life.

Family unity sounds like more right wing rhetoric. Adoption can be a great thing for the both the child & the natural mother & the adoptive parents. It's a win-win-win situation if a baby can be adopted by loving parents who can take care of all her needs.

I think it's the right option for some people, depending on the circumstances. There are so many people that want so badly to have a child and can't, and they can provide the child with family unity as well (if not better) than the biological mother and father.

I have been in this situation. I gave my daughter up for adoption out of the hospital and the family was able to name her. I still feel that to this day it was the best choice for my daughter. I loved her so much that I new i couldnt provide the life for her that she deserved. You have to feel that it is the right choice from your heart and know that god will take care of you after you made a big decision like that. A few ?'s to ask yourself... Are you willing to give your child the best that your unable to give them? Do you want your child living the life your living right now? Do you love your child enough to not be selfish and give them a life you can't? When you know the answers you know what you should do.

If you don't want the child and don't have the means to support the child I believe that giving the baby up for adoption would be the best choice. There are so many couples that can't have kids that want to be parents so desperatley. Giving a baby up for adoption offers the baby life and also offers a couple who really wants a child to be parents.

Adoption is a wonderful idea if you want to give your child the best life possible and you are unable to give that. Family is a strong bond, but its not always with who you are born to.

I think it might be the best thing for the child if you have problems in your life and can't take care of it or support it. Adoptive families are families, too.
