Nothing's wrong with him. He just has an odd voice. The "silent" meow is a common trick cats use to beg for something. Usually it's like "oh look, I'm so weak from hunger I can't even manage a meow"! lol! Don't worry. His voice may get stronger now that he's away from his litter-mates. He's probably just shy...

I have a cat that's like that and he is 8 yrs old now, he does the silent meows when he wants food and the squeeeky ones when he wants to go outside. He has numerous 'voices'. when he was a baby I thought he might never meow, went thru the motions but no sound came out, but he found his voice and just has a different way of communicating than most cats.He talks with his paws too, he will come up and tap us when he wants something! He is a very unique cat and we love him dearly!!

May be nothing I have a female that has a very high squeaky meow and at times nothing comes out it depends on how excited she is. How old is the kitten? You may want to ask a vet to be safe.

All kitties have different voices, yours just isn't "average". Yes, there is such thing as a 'silent meow.' Cats use it when asking politely for something. Quiet, but persistent.

Relax - absolutely nothing.

Just as humans have different voices, so do cats.

I've got one at presents that just squeaks.
I wish my others did too - they have very broad accents. Haha.

Absolutely nothing -- they all have their own little voices just like they have their own little personalities. Sounds adorable, too.
