I'm using super scoop arm and hammer litter. when my kitten gets his paws wet and gets in the litter box, his paw picks up bunch of litter. then when he walks away, it gets stuck to his coat...like a gum would. and it gets everywhere on the carpet and on his fur. his a very long haired kitten, persian. what should i do? should i try another brand?

Try a corn or wheat based litter...they clump really well, are biodegradable, and don't stick to fur as easily as clay based litters.
Also, get a litter mat...the good ones are fuzzy (like outdoor doormats) and trap litter pretty well.

You're using clumping litter. If you don't want this to happen, try non-clumping litter and not get your cat wet. If it's just the paws. Have a towel on the floor infront of the the way in. That way atleast some of the moisture will be absorbed

Just use really cheap cat litter then it won't stick at all to its feet, trust me my cat has no problems, its really dry and grainy kind of dull stuff, but the only mess you will probably get is if your cat has a tendancy to kick the litter out as if covering its mess. Just scoop it up before it really begins to smell!

I think you shouldn't get your kitty wet or anything... not sure though. I guess just try stopping it from getting its paw wet, if it still gets stuck, then change the brand. If something's wrong again, ask an expert through the phone or something. Or maybe a vet.

put an old towel down in front of the litter box, that should help the litter all over the rugs. i would also suggest you keep checking his rear end for mess, trust me, i have a long hair cat myself.
