We see cops everyday speeding 20 - 30 mph over the speed limit then pull off to get coffee. Do they think the public will take them serious when they talk about safety?

It's 12 miles from my home to work, the cops like to hang out at the coffee shop and 7 - 11 along my ride to work. I like it when they pass me because I follow about 1/4 of a mile behind them so I get home faster.

You are over generalizing. Some cops speed some don't, and either way it doesn't make their message any less valid. Another point I want to make is that, that same cop that you are complaining about won't hesitate to come to your house at three o'clock in the morning when you have an intruder and put his life on the line for you.

Absolutely true. They know they do it, they don't actually worry too much about it, its a special priviledge for being a law enforcement officer. But they aren't supposed to. A while back someone wrote to our Gov. and complained and it came down that officers were supposed to pay attention to the speed limit. That lasted a couple days, then they were back to speeding.

But just because they're *wong* doesn't mean that you need to risk your life. Going slower is safer, wearing a seatbelt is safer. The one who doesn't get in an accident, or walks away from an accident, is the only one around, so I guess he gets to laugh last.

Make sure you laugh last.

The public would do well to not take anyone in government seriously and start questioning their authority.

Yes cops put their life on the line and it's their choice. That doesn't give them the right to abuse their authority. And there is far too much abuse of authority on the part of all government officials and the justice system

I'm sure you really followed them to the coffee shop.Q: Can you honestly say you know where they went. A: No!

There are a great deal of circumstances that require the police to respond fast to a incident that department policy dictates that they can't use their emergency lights. So, before you run your mouth without thinking again, keep in mind that they are probably in route to help someone.

Actually you have no idea why they were exceeding the speed limit, they may have been responding to a call, and are allowed by law to exceed the speed limit in the performance f their duties. I am sure that you would want them to go real fast if they were coming to help you.

a large portion of cops have an authority issue. they think they can but you cant. the rules dont apply to them but if you do the same thing they do then they will use ever rule in the book to tell you how wrong you are.
