the bible makes no reference to abortion (which according to Wikipedia did exist in ancient times http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion ) or even infanticide (which was also practiced at the time). In fact the closest thing to a reference is in Exodus 21:22 to the punishment if a man does violence to a pregnant woman causing her to lose the child, which is different from the punishment for murder as described in Exodus 21:12, which clearly indicates that the basis for popular religious thought for the Judeo-Christian-Muslim traditions did not intend for the killing of a fetus to be regarded as murder. But this is a religious view point, and not a secular viewpoint, so it out not have any influence over the law.
A lot of Christians look to the commandment, "Thou Shalt Not Murder," However, there is a great deal of subjectivity to how the bible deals with killing and the nature of murder. Given that it was practiced commonly by the ancient people for whom the ancient bible was new (the people who best know the original intent of the scriptures) coupled with abortion not being mentioned anywhere in the bible, I'm of the opinion that the bible did not intend for abortion to be viewed as murder.

In the Bible? Nowhere. Which is weird, because, yes, abortion methods were probably known back in Moses's time, and were definitely around in Jesus's time. It seems strange that, if abortion really is wrong in all circumstances, that Jesus or Paul wouldn't have said something about it. But they didn't.
Most folks will either point to the "Thou shalt not kill" commandment, or several verses in Job, Psalms and Jeremiah, in which God is said to either formed someone in the womb or known someone in the womb.
Problem is, the "Thou shalt not kill" commandment never applied to fetuses. In Jewish law, a person didn't actually become a person until a month after birth. And, the penalty inducing a miscarriage in a woman (without her consent) only resulted in a mild monetary fine, not the same punishment for murder.
The problem with the "knowing while in the womb" verses is that: 1. In these verses, the fetus is never referred to as a person; 2. They usually referred to special prophets that God favored anyway, not the entire population; 3. They are mainly poetic. The link below provides arguments, from a Biblical standpoint, against the pro-life position.

It doesn't say in the bible the word Abortion is a sin, it does say murder is a sin, and abortion to some is killing a baby that was made from conception.
I do believe in woman choice, but I also know what the bible says and I could never do it unless I was rapped.

In the Holy Qur'an, it doesn't say don't do abortion, but...It says don't kill humans : "And If anyone killed a human being it is as if he killed the whole mankind, and if he saved a human being it is as if he saved the whole mankind". It was proved by scientists that the embryo becomes human (or a fetus) at the 40th day of pregnancy, so a woman in Islam is allowed to do abortion before that. However it is "disliked", and it's better to do it if it was necessary. BUT, if, at any time of pregnancy "even after the 40th day", the continuation of pregnancy is a threat to mother's health or life, abortion MUST be done, according to Islamic laws, because the mother's life is more important than the baby's. Seems fair huh?

Well first of all there's no way that the Bible (or the Quran) can say SPECIFICALLY that abortion is wrong because it wasn't invented yet. Just as it doesn't say anything specifically about, say, pornography, since it also wasn't around back then. But just because the bible doesn't specifically address a certain issue that doesn't mean it's not important.
The Bible makes it pretty clear that murder is wrong, and also that God recognizes us as people while we are still in the womb. All it takes is to just read a few passages of scripture and you'll see there's no way God would ever condone the killing of a child in the womb.
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be."
-Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV)
And as far as the Quran goes: "Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin." (The Noble Quran, 17:31)

It doesn't because (and I may be wrong) I don't really think people got abortions when the bible was written (but honestly they could have easily found ways to kill their babies). It wasn't a thing at the time.
Even now, I believe firmly that a woman can do whatever she wants with her body and should have the freedom to choose. Who is the government to tell you what you can and can't do with your body? I'm not telling yall to go out and kill your babies, but I think that if the mother can't provide for a baby (in which case the baby would die anyway or have to be given for adoption), making her have the baby isn't fair for the baby or the mother.

Well in the Quran it doesnt specifically refer to abortion and neither does the Shariah Law (Islamic Law), scholars have to interpret other principles of Islamic Law and then apply them to this issue.
Muslims regard life as a gift and a blessing from God. Human beings dont hav the right to take life for invalid reasons and certainly murder is not permissible and is regarded as a great sin.

last time i heard, you don't really have any rights until your 18. thats what some people on here say. are you 9 months old when your born? no your a day old. if people started counting you as a person inside someone, then fine. but they don't, so i could care less. who really wants to live anyway, everyone will have problems and want to die anyway. life is an experience that nobody lives through, so why try. plus, god didn't have a kid out of his womb. cus you know, everyone knows god is a man and all. so how did the picture of jesus get developed? was there a drive through photo mat somewhere?

no, bringing an unwanted baby into this world is a sin. think about it. the future for at least three people would be ruined. abortion is a problem solver not a problem. and also if it is done in first 8 weeks that does not consider murder.
