If you are unsure whether your partner is disease free, then it can be dangerous. If you know for sure, then there is no problem in performing oral sex.

Contratry to popular believe, you can catch STDs during oral sex. The herpes virus can be spread to and from the oral tissues. Also, chlamydia can affect the genitals and the throat. In the area where I live, there's an increase of this in the throats of female teenagers because they believe that if they don't have intercourse they won't get an STD. How wrong. Both guys and gals are at risk because if you have oral sex with an infected partner, the disease can spread.

As long as you know that the person with you are having oral sex doesn't have any disease and you really know that person is ok, but also you have to make sure that you or your couple don't have any cold sore in one's mouth when you are having oral sex.
