It is called the guy that knocked you up is too immature to be a father. This is why people want to wait until marriage to have children, this way there is actually a commitment to stay. When he got you pregnant, he had no real commitment to you. He could sleep with you and leave at any time.

Mostly because he was looking to have fun without assuming any responsibility. When a guy sees his girl as a life partner he proposes to her and gets engaged to her and in doing so take on the responsibility to be the man in relationship and provide for his woman and any future children. So until he is engaged to a woman, all a guy is is looking for is physical and emotional companionship of a woman. Sex is a risky thing and you can't rely 100% on contraceptives. Most of time when a guy's girlfriend becomes pregnant, he runs away from her and the baby , or in other words, runs away from the responsibility. Most guys who do that do not feel bad or guilty, they just go on looking for the next woman who can give him everything without a commitment. May be later in life when a guy has matured (learned to accept responsibility) that he wants to become father of his child, but you are correct, by then he missed out on the wonderful time he could have with his baby.

Your aunt should have her a** kicked for having her grand nephew's father leave his girl( her niece) for her.
That is the first thing.
Second thing. Do not let this dope comeback into your lives! You will find a guy who will love Dexter as his own. When this bum comes back, explain to Dexter that he left you two because he did not want the responsibility of being a dad. And that there are a lot of little boys and girls out there whose Mommies and/or Daddies left them because they could not become an adult and handle them.
Also explain that he has a Mommy who loves him (and other family members and friends, etc.) that loves him and that there are kids who has no one to love them.
Forget about this bum and your aunt. May they rot together!

If he left you for your aunt, then how old are you? I mean, it's awful and sad that he knocked you up, and then left you for another family member, that is not just cruel, it's inexcusable for what he's done. I think he's not a man at all for doing that to you, and to leave you alone like that and not have a care in the world and then go after your aunt, he'll probably do the same to her as he did to you. cause he doesn't want the resposiblity. Take him to court have his pay garnished by the state, and make him pay child support.

If having a father is soooo important to you, - then you should have taken the first step for him to show the most fundamental / initial level of commitment,- and that is GET MARRIED FIRST !!

There's just something about "shacking up" in all of our heads that's it's not really marriage. And that staying together is just "hoping", -like hoping for good weather on the weekend.

Sex means a possible a pregnancy, which means you, and possibly a father that's present. If having a father (present) for your baby is such a big deal to you,- the you would have gotten married first.

It's not guilt. It's laziness, irresponsibility and immaturity. He doesn't realize what a precious gift he's been given. Maybe he will someday, maybe not. In the meantime, make sure that sweet boy of yours is surrounded by positive male figures in his life: family friends, uncles, grandparents. He needs to see how a real man behaves.

yeah...he seems like someone you should just let go of and find yourself someone better. sounds like he just doesnt want the responsibility of taking care of a child so he wants nothing to do with it. you know what i say? oh well, be strong, you can do it...show him that he's going to be the one missing out because he didnt stay with you. date other people, find yourself a great man, and enjoy your life like you should be doing.

He is stupid. he is the one that is missing in his childs life. Dont beg him or call him anymore he is not worth the battle. Your son does not need a father like him in his life.

he is a jerk. regardless of your and his relationship he should be responsible enough to be a part of his child's life.
