Catholics believe that anyone who dies while in the state of mortal sin (completely separated from God) will go to hell.
This belief include popes.
In fact people in leadership roles have to live up to a higher standard. "Those to whom much is given, much is expected."
With love in Christ.

The only people, pope or not, who go to heaven are those who recognize that Jesus Christ is the only access to heaven - and since most popes do not believe that there is the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that he came to do away with a mediator between mankind and God, my OPINION would be no, only God can judge the heart and soul of each individual pope. But if a person once learns the Truth and chooses to stay in a religion that doesn't teach the Truth, then they have either been called to be a great missionary to those people or have chosen to adhere to their religion inspite of their converted soul.

God is no respect of person. The Popes are sinner just like we are and if they didn't believe what Jesus Christ did on the cross they went to hell. He died for our sins, He was buried and took our sins away and He rose again for our justification. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 1 Corinthians 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

If they had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and repented of their sins, then yes. Otherwise, no. You can't get to heaven by good works or anything else, not just by being the pope, or going to church. You have to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

not to get religious on you, but the bible says unless you confess jesus is lord, and are baptized you will no wise see the kindgom of heaven, so unless they have done those things, just being a "pope" doesnt give em a free access pass to heaven. Sorry, God is not conditional

No, I don't think so. It depends. They may have been pope, but God knows the truth of their fault and if they disobeyed God's commandments WITHOUT asking for forgivness, then they wouldn't. If they did ask for forgivness and believe wholeheartedly in Jesus Christ, then yes, they would enter Heaven.

Popes are no more or less humans than the rest of us. If they die in their sins they go to hell like anybody else. God is not partial.
