Do you truly believe that being religious makes one less sinful?
True it makes us a better person (sometimes) and Christians would say that through Christ our sins are forgiven...but are we really leading better lives than anyone else? or are there sins we commit everyday that, to God, make us look as sinful as Bin Lade, GWB, or even Hitler? Are we ll equally sinful in God's eyes, or ar some people the "good ones"?

We are all equal in God's eyes, no one is perfect, everybody has sinned, so therefore we are all sinners. Fortunately Jesus died (and rose again) to take our sins

No way, just like everything else it depends on the individual not the group. An individual can say they are a christian (or whatever) and be miserable and not help the dying man on the street... the same way a person who does not believe in any God can help that same man back to health, now which do you think God will accept into the kingdom... It depends on the motives behind things... you can say you are not living for God, but either way if you live a good life God is not going to turn away from that, same as you can say you are a christian and treat people with contempt and hate and that will not get you any closer to eternity with the creator. It all comes down to motives I think... And I do not believe that you have to be a certain, shape, size, religion, color to get to life with God for eternity. I also do not think that you need to go through Jesus, I am a christian and I know you prob think that is going against itself, but I am not going to take the wonderful life Jesus had and the love Jesus taught and believe that anyone is going to hell for not believing in Jesus... go ahead and quote scripture and hold the bible above God's love, that is man's word they are quoting and God's love I am sharing.

I was always taught that the First Commandment states "Thou shall have no other gods before Me" and the school I went to interpreted this as "If you commit any sin you have also broken the first commandment because you put something else before God"

Thus, a sin is a sin is a sin. There is no one sin that is bigger than any other.

I say, live your life the best way you know how. Do what you think is moral and just and dont sweat the details.

Everyone is born into a world of sin. It is your decision whether or not to live a sinful life or not. God looks at us equally and by doing good in life we store treasures in heaven, not on earth. As a Christian, you are to live by the commandments that He has set for us and take communion in order to be cleansed of our sins. God will forgive people of their sin, but you must also have a willing heart and open to living right. A sin is a sin, whether we lie, cheat or steal... it is all the same in God's eyes... you just need to ask forgiveness and realize the mistakes you have made. We are all born into this world equally sinful, but we also have a choice to be sinners or not. In order to get to heaven, you must live right, seek God in prayer and to be lead in the right direction to do the right things while here on earth, and ask God for forgiveness.

Actually God does measure sin-look at all the law. Different crimes had different punishment. Not all were stoning. If one applies all the bible and not just parts-yes you could say there sin is less-not erased. And yes God recognizes Good Men-David-Noah- Paul had a good heart despite killing the Christians-God turned him around with more accurate knowledge,

No - being religious is relative. We are judged by our works - not by not "sinning" because its not possible. If you are religious and never do anything to help others and spread the word of God - then whats the point?? God wants good things for us - besides - what is the definition of "good"? We do things in the U.S. that other countries consider sinful - eat cows for instance. So all of this is open for debate....good luck in finding your answers

Yes I can say that I am.
Because of what Jesus did for me I want to please him.
Since I have accepted Jesus as my LORD and savior I have changed so much.
My actions are so different now. I am to please God in all that I do. Yes I still sin but I sin so much less and I am really sorry when I do.
Yes I am still a sinner but I am more aware of sin and am quick to ask for forgiveness.

Nothing that we can do will stop us from being sinners.

The idea is to realize that we must take responsibility for our sins and suffer the consequences, which makes us want to be more careful, leading to a better life.

Those who are truly good, recognize the good in all others without using evil as a reference.
