Yeah, but be sure to introduce them slowly... It's better to introduce a new cat at a younger age anyways, so go for it.

Yes, I did the same thing exept I had 2 Cats 1 year. Right now I have 2 Cats, 1 Kitten and 1 Dog

They get used to each other in about 2 weeks tops.

Yes it's safe. You will want to keep them in separate rooms in the beginning though, so neither one feels threatened. Introduce them slowly and keep them separated at night.

The way I did it, because I live in a small apartment, is that I kept the new cat in my bedroom and the other cats had the living room and kitchen to run around in. I would bring them together when I was home- early in the morning and in the evening, and when I wasn't home I would separate them. I had very few problems this way, and they all got along well within about 2 weeks. Every cat is different though, so your cat may take longer to get used to having a kitten around.

Yes, and since your cat is only 1 year old, chances are better that he/she will get along with and become buddies with a new kitten. The younger the cat is the better. Older cats (around 7yrs. and up) aren't too happy when you bring a kitten around but younger cats like to play so usually they'll get along.

Sure! As long as your one year old cat is not a mean one. If he/she is playful and gentle with you, it should be fine. When I got my first cat she was one year old. I wanted her to stay playful and not be bored, so a few months later I got a 2 month old kitten. Two cats are so much better than one. They play together all the time.

It's not that bad, just keep them in separate rooms for a while if you're not going to be there. It will take time for the old cat to get use to the kitten.

It is best to get a 4 month old (4 lb) kitten. At that size, they can defend themselves, but are not too threatening to the resident cat.

It should be fine to get another kitten. However I would introduce them slowly . To be sure that your older cat will accept the knew one . I also would strongly recommend that you have you new kitten tested for feline leukemia its a highly contagious and deadly disease among cats.

Yes it is. Usually the older cat takes controll of the younger cat.

Yes

But if your cat is not ok with other animals,

it may be nessacery to keep them seperate for the first one or two weeks whilst the kitten gets used to you and your home

and then gradually get them used to each other.

Good Luck. x x
