Ok i have left this to the panel and there really hasn't been anything that inspiring so how about this.

Grapple Wider

So your thinking makes no sense but the derivation is pure. Check it

Grape + Apple (Grapple) + Wine and Cider (Wider)

Of course this is not for just red wine and cider its a generic for all wine and cider mixes!

Let me know if you like it???????

Well if you leave wine for too long it will eventually turn into cider, and it would truly be wider or cidewin. Good luck with your experimentation for I think it is really great that you have put so much thought into this subject. Nimrod!!!!!!

It all depends what kind of wine you mix it with. I prefer the French Burgundy, and i think it'll taste alright. Plus you gotta calculate the proportions, cause overmixing might create the obnoxious taste.

You might be thinking of Calvados. Which is Apple brandy, other wise I don't think that there is a specific name.
