We rescued a stray kittie and need to name him. He's all gray so right now his name is Ash but it just isn't sticking. He has an ear infection right now so he tilts his head sideways when he walks, making him look both pitiful and cute, and simultaneously insane. Any name ideas? It is a boy, and please nothing generic like Rascal or Tiger.

For the record, YES I definitely took him straight to the vet. He didn't look healthy and what is the point of taking him in if I am going to let him stay sick? He is currently in recovery from getting fixed and we are treating his ear infection... We are definitely hoping the head tilt will go away, but we thought it might be cute to name him something that reminds us of how he was when we found him.
LOVE ALL THE NAMES!! You guys had me rolling on the floor! We actually settled on Damien... because we found him on the eve of 6/6/06... and Damien actually means "untamed" so it just really fit perfectly. I'm going to pick out of these for a middle name and select it as the best answer... but I thought they were all great! Thanks everyone!

Rasputin, since he looks insane
Or how about Velcro. . . I've always wanted to name a cat that, but it has never suited any of the ones I've lived with.
Or maybe Rainman, for the little head tilt.

I volunteer at a cat sanctuary 3 times a week, plus I've had many Russian blues myself. We had Blue Boy, Squeaky, Bambi, Thumper, Muchu, Budda, Gizmo, Smokey, Bandit and Loopy. Some of the other cats are Mr.Peanut, Cody, Thug, Sam, Mike, Dave, Eyore, and Whispers.

You didn't mention if you took your kitten to the vet. Did you and is he being treated right now for that ear infection? I wouldn't call it something that indicates his ear problem, because if you are treating the kitten for the ear infection then he will be cured and won't have his head tilted permanently. Is your kitten shy? Is your kitten playful or ornery or mischievous? If your kitten is shy, how about "Bashful". If your kitten is playful and tears around a good bit in play how about "Rambo" or "Turbo". What color is his eyes? Are they shiny in color and clear? How about "Bright Eyes" or if he is mischievous call him "Ornery". Play around with different names and ideas, I'm sure you will come up with some-thing that is appealing to both you and your kitten. May God Bless you for rescuing that little dear kitten. Animals are the best treasures in life to us animal loving people. Good luck!

I used to have a gray cat and I named her Curiosity. We called her Curio most of the time.
I don't know of many cats named Curiosity at all, so if you used this one the cat's name would definitely be unique!

"Zigzag" comes to mind, so how about "Ziggy"?
Just listen carefully and see if you have a name rolling around in your brain, even if it doesn't make sense or seem "right". He might be telling you his name -- and it might just pop into your head.
