How many cigarettes are Americans allowed to take to England?

I am an American citizen going to England. I am curious as to how many cigarettes I can take.

No matter where you are going you are not allowed more than 2 cartons in your checked baggage or carry on when going through US Security. The TSA will confiscate any amount above that. Also you are not allowed to carry lighters on your person or in your carry on baggage. You are allowed 2 in your checked luggage. Only matches are allowed beyond security and you are allowed 2 books on your person or in your carry on and only 2 in your checked bag as well.
