Only on the right.. I got in a car accident for passing on the left..low and behold the asshole was turning left.. The officer specifically said You can only pass on the right when they are turning left.

Walking--when two people are approaching each other, in the US and other right-hand drive countries, we tend to move to the right to pass. In Japan and other left-hand drive countries, they tend to move to the left to pass.
