Her hands sake and her eyes fluter, it happens about twice a month, I see a doctor and he put her on Zonisamide for a seizure.
But its not helping her. What can I do? I feel upset that I can't help her. We been married for 43 years and it makes a man helpless.

You are helping her, because you are there for her, you love her, and you can help take some of the day to day pressures off of her, make her feel less stressed. I suggest that she see another doctor for extensive testing, begin to see a therapist/psychologist, and possibly consult them about anxiety medication. Also, setting up a nice hot bubble bath, with some candles and soft music, and a thurough massage once in awhile would also be a plus.

My thoughts are with you, good luck.

I agree you should tell the doc. the med. is not working. If he seems unconcerned seek a new doc., Preferably a specialist.

One thing you can do, is to check for stroke. When these episodes happen, follow these steps. Ask her to smile, ask her to say a simple sentence. Ask her to raise both arms and have her stick out her tongue. If her tongue is crooked, off to one side or the other or if she has a problem with any of the first three things, get her to a hospital.

That you have been together so long is wonderful.

You must not take this illness of your wifes out on yourself.
You care enough to ask & you'll get unhelpful answers on here from people who'll be rude.

It does sound like the pills are not helping & returning to see a doc same one or a different one. Explain all your problems & be honest that you want the best for your wife.
Fingers X'd for you hope returning to see a doc helps.

Let the Dr. know it isn't working! Maybe he can try something else. Did they run any tests? They should do that to eliminate other things. If the Dr. doesn't seem concerned, go to another one!
