I believe this is an important decision that you probably ought to have made 2 or 3 years ago. Your question doesn't tell us about your tennis tournament results or rankings. If you've never been ranked in tennis, then you have a *lot* of work to do. I think there are two primary factors for you to consider: 1. Which sport is more fun? 2. Which sport am I more likely to be successful at? I don't know a great deal about soccer [football], so I can't really help you there. The odds of doing really well [financially] as a professional player are a bit like a finding a needle in a large, large haystack. The competition is incredible. Not to say that you couldn't do well and get yourself an ATP ranking someday; maybe you can, I don't really know. What I do know is that the probabilities of getting into the top 100 on the ATP World Tour are against you, or anyone else, for that matter. Trying to climb up the rankings and travel the world year-round playing minor-league ATP World Tour tournaments requires some very serious money, about $200,000 a year or so. Do you have access to that kind of money? Not many people do. You also need someone who cares about you a LOT to help you and make good decisions on your behalf. In the ATP link below, you should learn about the Futures tour, which is where you would start working your way up. If you do well enough, then you could play Challenger tournaments or enter the quallies for a Challenger tournnament. If you get enough points from Challenger tournaments, they you would be able to try and qualify for an ATP World Tour 250 event. You might also study the ATP Rule Book, if you're interested. It takes about two or three years to work up to the top 200, if you're fortunate and you win enough. Many players never achieve top 200. It's very tough. There are about 1850 players on the ATP singles ranking list at this time Below is a book that talks about what it takes to do well in pro tennis. All the best; hope you do well, regardless of your choice :-)

Tennis is better if you're not really a "team player" and are more competitive.
