The farthest galaxy known to date is almost 13 Billion light years away. That means that the light we see from that galaxy is from 13 Billion years ago. (Just like the light we see from the sun is really from ~14 min ago.)
Therefore, the Universe has to be at least 13 Billion years old... (Estimated at 14 Billion)... Is there room for astrophysics in Creationism?

People!... I'm not asking about Christian Faith... I'm asking about Fundamentalist Christian Creationism... LOL
I see no problem with Christianity when the Bible is read in a non-literal way

This has to be the first major disappoint ment! People... The fundamental part of Christian Creationism (not all ) is the young earth/universe theory. And Yes astrophysicists do say the universe is about 14 BILLION years old... And the 7 min from Earth to Sun depends on the time of year... During summer time we are much further away than during the winter.

Thank you for the critique I was expecting from Christian Creationists... It seems that Christians out there think Creationism is the same as simply believing in God... LOL

Lack of knowledge or direct experience is not a valid argument and simply states the obvious... That as a human being we are all ignorant in some respects or contain misunderstandings... I don't claim to be God.
Isn't that why we should ask questions?... Boy your name is so fitting!

Who says that the universe is intricately organized... Oh! Yeah Humans.... our brain tries to find organization even if it isn't there (People see Mother Mary on there French Toast)
Moon... Yes earth didn't always have the moon... Moon is the result of a collision between the earth and another proto-planet...
Your statement about organization probably has to do with entropy... Most Creationist misuse this idea... Another day

The universe expanding at an accelerated rate causes a problem for the law of conservation. The Hubble law works based on the law of conservation. What makes you think that a creationist would concede the validity of the process used to determine the distances?
It's the same thing with carbon dating fossils. They don't believe the science. They can't because any flaw in the word of God as written in the Bible would make all other words in the Bible just as suspect. Black or white only. No Grey allowed.

This is going to get silly in a few more responses.
You should know well enough than to ask a question like this. Anyone who believes in creationism will simply state "Time has no meaning for the Creator" or "God has been around for longer than 20 billion years". You're probably even going to get responses from people who say they are going to pray for you.
This is going the way of the 'which came first, the chicken or the egg' question. There can be arguments made for both cases, most of them lucid and intelligent. However, neither can be proven as absolute fact.
Take your studies regarding the age of the universe and the distances between galaxies- any argument you can make against creationists applies here: How do you know for certain that a galaxy exists 15 billion light years away? Have you been there? Have you seen it? Have you met a being from that region of the universe? (before you get in a tizzy, understand that I am on your side)
The only proof we have are the words and pictures of scientists, very much like the words and pictures of priests. Sure, some experiments have been conducted, and research supports some theories and hyphothesis, but in science, an idea is only considered fact until something can disprove it as fact.
Don't you think the Creationists think that same way? If the universe is 15 billion years old, then divide that number by six, and that's the length of a day for "the Creator".
There is room for all beliefs to work together- however most people don't look for them to work together, they either force them apart or try and defy logic by coming up with senseless crap.

Do "scientific" evolutionists realize they are against science?
1)Conservation of matter theory (Matter is neither created nor destroyed)
So where did the material for the Big Bang come from
2) Spontaneous generation
See above
3) How can the intricate organization of our universe come from the chaos of an explosion.
If we tossed a bomb in a junkyard could we make a Ferrari
(If you can let me know lol)
4) The moon is slowly drifting away from the earth if the earth is billions of years old the moon would have been dragging along the face of the earth.
God obviously existed before the creation of the world so it is possible that he created the stars and other planets before he created the earth. So if God existed before it is possible for stars to exist. God and science can coexist.
Response
1) you did not explain the whole spontaneous generation
2) I don't beleieve anyone has seen mary in the 2000 some odd yrs since she died.
3) I studied this theory in Astronomy a while ago. the protoplanet which collided with earth to form both moon and earth how long ago did that happen? If billions of yrs ago the moon still would have to be scrapping the earth. If it happened a few thousand yrs ago then evolution couldn't have taken thousands of yrs. and the earth is on schedule with the christian time table
4)Like the preacher in the clip below said look at the complexity of your body. I think that is pretty complex so would pretty much anyone who has studied anatomy let alone the complexity of whole world.

Current estimates place the age of the observable portion of the universe at 13.7 Billion years. The Earth is known to be some 4.5 Billion years old. But these scientific facts are based on REALITY not on the bible. There are many "biblical facts" science can not explain. Science cannot explain how zombies can rise from the dead as described in Matthew. Science doesn't have an explanation for How people live for over 900 years old, or how virgins give birth to males, or how donkeys talk, or how people can live for three days inside a fish/whale. When one has a fantasy story one is not bound by facts. One can make up anything they wish.

You wouldn't ask this if you had some more knowledge of the religion.
MOST Christians do not interpret the timeline of Genesis literally. The Bible is a religious text, not a scientific one, and the point of those first chapter is to say that God created it all, not necessarily to exlain how He did so. There is definitely room in Creationism to say that the earth is 14 billion years old.

Well, all current scientists are saying that the universe is only about 4 billion years old (my 2006 Astronomy textbook). The light we see from the sun is only from 8 minutes ago, and not about 14 minutes.
Yes, that still is ok with Creationism. It just means that God created the universe at that time. What is so hard to understand?

How do we know that? Sure, the speed of light is measurable on a comparatively small scale, but has anyone measured if it's consistant over a period of 13 billion years? One year? We still have a lot to learn about a big universe with a lot of little things in it. Especially since light seems to play by its own rules on a smaller quantum scale, making Relativity more difficult to predict than Einstein thought. In some experiments, it's possible for light to arrive BEFORE it left. We just don't know enough yet to make truly definitive statements, just smart guesses.

good the Bible does advise a tender age for the universe considering that it offers the a while of many men and women and you'll be able to estimate the time that guy has been round with all that "begot" stuff. And then the 7 (good enough technically six) days to create the whole lot does not upload so much time and it involves the production of guy I suppose (you must proper me if I'm fallacious). My uncle mentioned that he sat down and computed it with a few comrades as soon as they usually got here up with a determine of anything like 5000 years... I beleive others have arise with equivalent numbers round 6000... ten thousand. This is lovely ludacris of path and I believe such a lot men and women can see that. Many creationists I recognize believe that even supposing the age of guy is accuately represented through the Bible (additionally sort of dull should you question me) the Universe in 7 Days factor have got to be extra metaphoric. The Catholic Church has formally followed the gigantic bang speculation as their reason for what occurred within the early universe however factor out that this nonetheless leaves us with out so much of an reply as to what occurred to begin this.

There are many different ways of proving that astrophysicists do not know how to calculate the distance of stars. Let me state 2 of them:
1) They believe in Hubble's law which states that v=Hd. (velocity with which stars move away from us is proportional to their distance from us) This is a violation of the energy conservation law, since it implies that both potential energy and kinetic energy keep increasing. If you throw a ball upwards, you will realize that as the ball goes further from earth, its velocity will decrease.
2) I have calculated the distance of SN1987a, and obtained a value very different from what astrophysicists believe. I know my result is more accurate than theirs. You can try calculating it yourself using observational data.
Also, the website which you provided to 'prove' that the farthest galaxy known to date is almost 13 Billion light years away does not contain any observational data that prove that we can see galaxies 13 billion light years away. Try getting the spectroscopic data, then try reproducing their calculations based on raw data. Don't believe unless you are convinced that what they do is really science.

Not if the world is only 6,000 years old. But, some would argue in "appeared age", where God created something instantaneously that looks to us as though it's 13 billion years old.
But, creationists can also be old-earth thinkers who don't believe that the 6 "days" were 24-hour periods. Under this case, this gives the out of the earth being as old as science wants to say it is.

I feel like a broken record sometimes.
"Belief" is the Lazy-boy of consciousness. All it requires is that you blindly accept it...and never question it. It is a tool used by people to enslave and control others.
Freedom is thinking for yourself. Slavery is simply believing what you've been taught. At one point you probably believed in "Santa Claus" and the "Tooth Fairy"... and the "Easter Bunny".
There are 33,830 denominations of Christianity. There are over 10,000 major religions practiced on Earth. How do you KNOW what you believe is accurate? Have you even bothered to look at ANY other denominations of Christianity, let alone any other Religions?
Ask quesitions. Use your mind. Think for yourself.
I wish you Peace.
