Simply put, do you support our government giving a free path to citizenship to those who broke our fundamental laws to get here? America has always been a nation of LEGAL immigrants. Why should that change now?

NO NO NO!!

I am a Native American, so don't preach to me that my ancestors were illegal immigrants. Illegal is illegal, no matter who they are, or where they came from.

Why punish those who have applied for and are waiting for LEGAL citizenship? They are being pushed to the end of the line because they did it legally. I do not believe in rewarding illegals in any way. If they had kids born here, that's too bad. They should go back to their own country anyway, and apply for legal citizenship, so those who have waited for years, aren't punished.

It is a gross miscarriage of justice to reward these law breakers. Send them to the end of the line and reward those who have done it correctly. The labor force will NOT suffer, because the LEGAL immigrants will fill the gaps left by the illegals.

In 1986 Ronald Reagan sign a bill that gave 3 million illegal immigrants US citizenship, along with it our government was supposed to secure our borders from illegals crossing the border and stop any illegals coming from other countries,it also was supposed to fine companies and individuals that hire illegals, since that time 12 million illegals have crossed the border because of our own government's neglet, both democrat and republican, our own government did not do what they promised 20 years ago and they won't do what they are promising now, 20 years from now we will have another 30 million illegals in this country but by then it will be too late.

The problem was exacerbated by Clinton's amnesty. Now, we have 20 million who's first act in the US was to commit a crime. Amnesty will just encourager another wave of illegal entrants.

My Congressman is a member of the Hispanic Caucus and doesn't think this is a bad thing. I suppose disdain for the law may be cultural with them.

No...I as well as a great many other Americans have grown up being taught that we cannot and should not be rewarded for doing something wrong. I guess this is where it is a slippery slope. It would seem that other cultures and societies find rewarding illegals behavior the norm. This may be why many of the illegals entering the U.S. are from 3rd world nations. Their concepts of what is right is very out dated.

I agree w/ you to a point. yes, it is illegal, and its too bad that it hasnt been really enforced in the past, but what were dealing w/ now is tons of kids born here in the United States to illegal aliens. do we deport parents who are here illegally, and have tons of foster kids on our hands that we must deal w/, do we deport american citizens because their parents are here illegally?? that would be ridiculous, i think we should start from now. Any illegal immigrant must register and go through a process, they pay their cost to be here legally, then earn their right to stay. We must however, permenantely deport ANY and ALL criminals. i also have a theory on our Jail System. but i dont think anyone's really intersted. in short, my theory is that we should bring chain gangs back and make the prisoners work hard, not give them everything they need in there. there being punished, they should be made to work from sun up to sun down.

unlawful immigration causes many issues that is for positive. that's an undeniable truth. Given your estimate of 20 million illegals enable's proceed from there. enable's say even a million/3 of them are retaining jobs. that is very almost 7 million human beings contained in the artwork force. Contributing to the tax base etc. that could want to go away 7 million pastime vacancies. may our united states be able to attend to that many leaving the artwork force? probable not. may individuals step into those jobs for the pay provided? probable not. organizations base line is income. may they enhance wages to get individuals to artwork those jobs? probable not. extra organizations may commence to outsource. accordingly leaving lots of individuals out of jobs that now carry jobs. Our complete united states may cave in and the full melancholy may look like a cakewalk. As i have reported unlawful immigration is faulty and desires to end. yet we also prefer to be life like on deporting as you're saying 20 million human beings. trust me...it truly is now unlikely to ensue for quite a few causes. So we ought to flow ahead and picture of life like procedures to attend to the problem accessible and also insure the unlawful problem is stemmed contained in the destiny. extra effectual border protection and visa platforms prefer to be treated first and maximum ideal so the problem would not steadily worsen. once the flow is stopped we are able to then artwork on what to do with those already the following.

The irish legally came here by the boat load and America just welcomed them with open arms?

America has NEVER liked immigration of any sort. We never will. Sometimes the RIGHT thing to do isn't the most popular thing to do.

The hardest question I have been faced with is would you send a 12 year old honor student who was brought here at months old illegally by the parents back? If no then would you let a crack dealer parents stay at home with the kids instead of jail because it is best to have the parents around instead of a foster home.

I just don't understand why today's day Americans HATE immigrants so much, Don't you guys remember that you were also immigrants one time, trough your ancestors? the only Americans that should be complaining are the NATIVE AMERICANS (INDIANS), they are 100% Americans, and I don't see any of them hating immigrants or calling them criminals, There are more citizens living of the government, selling drugs, murdering and committing horrendous crimes than illegal people. most of them just want a better life financially for them and their families, most of them work hard and are honest people.
