I am 33 with a 9 year old child, do you think I am too old to have a second child, or is my daughter too old to enjoy having such a young sibling?

You are not too old. As you get older (especially past 35) the chance of certain birth defects increases. I was 10 when my little sister was born, and my older sister was 18. Your daughter right now may have jeleousy issues because she is used to being the center of attention and now she won't if you have a kid, but she'll still enjoy having a sibling.

You are not too old to have a second baby.Your daughter will probably love having a brother or sister no matter what age is.Most children don't like being an only child. If I could have I would have had two children and they would have been about 10 yrs. apart., but I lost a baby and my son is an only child. Now i'm too old to start again much older than you. Good luck!!!!

now days at 33 your not to old to have a child but i think it's better to have children before you're 30, eggs are young, the genetic material is very good as you get older the risk of having a problem pregnancy or having an unhealthy child is greater

33 is not to old to have a baby. As for siblings. They usually get along with the baby better than their parents. Let nature take it's course and get out of the way.

At 33 you'll have more patience, experience and calmness. You'll make a wonderful parent. At 9, your daughter can be fully involved in every aspect of the baby's life, in a 'grown up' way. Shell love it. Enjoy your new addition.

The siblings will not be very close. Talk to some folks who had 9-year gaps with siblings and find out. I think you can have another baby if you want to, but not for your daughter's benefit. Only if it's what you really want.

I had my daughter at 35 and she is my only child. My friend is 41 and just had her second. Discuss the idea with your 9 year old and get their feelings on it. If it's what you truly want, explain that and then go for it!

You are as only old as you feel.

You are fine, I would suggest doing it soon, the rate of birth defects go up signifigantly after 35. I was 9 when my little brother was born, it was great, I carried him around everywhere and babied him like a doll, lol. Seriously though your daughter will be old enough to help and will probably enjot it.

At 33, my mother only had half her family. She had 6, the oldest being 15 when the youngest was born. Both the eldest & the youngest are very close siblings.

Your not too old. How ever the longer you wait the more chances you have of having a high risk pregnancy and a problem with your child. If your going to do it, do it now. Talk to your daughter and see how she feels too.
