Quick answer if you meant 1 cubic yard is about 60 bags of 60lb Portland Type I or II concrete.
One 60lb bag will cover 2.6 sq ft at 2" thick.
Like others were saying though it does depend on what you are doing but the above should answer your direct question.
You can mix sand or rock with the concrete to get it to stretch further, depending on the application you are using it for.
Hope that answers your question!
Edit; Figured I would do the math on it if you really did mean 1 sq yard....
1 sq yard = 9 sq feet
One 60 lb bag will cover 2.6 sq feet at 2" thick so for the follow thicknesses is how many bags you will need of pure portland concrete:
1 sq yard 1" thick = 1.73 bags
1 sq yard 2" thick = 3.46 bags
1 sq yard 3" thick = 5.19 bags
1 sq yard 4" thick = 6.92 bags
for each additional inch just add 1.73 bags :)
and as you can see if you want 1 cubic yard its 1.73 * 36 = 62.28 bags of concrete (above i said 60 so... close enough :) ) again the math is 1.73 bags per 1 sq yard 1" thick times the number of inchs in a yard (36") is a total of roughly 60 bags of concrete give or take a little :)
If your doing a cubic yard its best to get a truck to deliver it... much easier than mixing it yourself. I have had do it many times and it is not a fun job at all.

the concrete mix design has a design and it depends on what properties you want in the concrete .... check the local code of design for concrete structures in your location and follow the instructions ... good luck
